My little dog Cubby died in my arms this past Sunday. And while caring doctors examined him, we could not be sure what was making him so sick and in so much pain. His crying was almost more than I could bear. I loved that little guy with all my heart. He had seen me through some dark days and was always by my side, just loving me. Finally, on Sunday evening, I prayed to our Father a different prayer than I had been praying. I asked our Heavenly Father to give Cubby his rest either on earth or in heaven. I fully surrendered him to his Creator. In a matter of just moments, Cubby stopped crying. I held him in my arms for 20 or 30 minutes and then heard his last breath and ultimately felt his last heartbeat. My heart is broken beyond consolation. And I am so grateful to our merciful God who hears our prayers and answers them. God took my Cubby home with Him peacefully and gently. God’s ways are perfect and he loves us and he loved my Cubby. “BEFORE THEY CALL, I WILL ANSWER; AND WHILE THEY ARE YET SPEAKING, I WILL HEAR." Isa 65:24. Before I even prayed, Father, you answered. Thank you, Jesus❣️ Cubby’s lifelong Vet Dr. Bain has walked this entire journey with Cubby and me even through burial in a little white coffin…the love of God expressed through this wonderful Christian man.
