@PsVEagle @decorativeartt Of course you're hoping that renewables will stabilise our power dependency and lower our bills..... That would depend on the weather of course and we see no reduction in energy prices despite claims of renewables taking over.

There's lots of avenues but what has actually stalled us are the decisions made by many Tory governments to stall it

@PsVEagle @decorativeartt So fusion energy is light years away and highly unlikely for at least 30 years. Solar and wind will not fuel our demands alone. Oil should be embraced. We have it around our shores.

@PsVEagle @decorativeartt It's a wing and a prayer isn't it really. Ultimately nuclear is the only current viable option and that's historically been slow and now needs updating for future demands.

Exactly this. The war has demonstrated how rogue straits can hold our dependencies against us… independant renewable sources of power are not just cheaper and more secure but also protect us in a future where the World is more unstable.

@implausibleblog There aren't enough renewables to power what we require. Even an expansion in solar and wind wouldn't suffice.
