Congratulations Labor government.
Penalty rates are now so high (Chalmers calls this 'fair') that most places close their doors - or the owners take the shift.
The lesson here is that if you push penalty rates too high - NO ONE gets them.
And even if the government tries to mandate businesses into keeping regular rosters - those businesses will collapse.
Socialists think you can FORCE economic outcomes with regulation.
Instead of realising the market REWARDS good economic practices.
Successful businesses pay more for labour. Businesses suffocating under the weight of government taxes and failed policy don't pay anything at all.

@ellymelly It is fair. When I was a chef, why the fuck should I have to work public holidays (or be threatened with losing my job for refusing) and be paid less. It’s called a trade off and businesses charge accordingly to account for the additional staffing costs. Duh! 🙄

Guys, I’m an idiot. All this time I’ve spent trying not to die, I had toxic turf in my backyard. Artificial turf contains crumb rubber infill made from recycled tires, which leaches chemicals including PFAS, heavy metals, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. These compounds are linked to hormone disruption, carcinogenicity, and systemic inflammation. I don’t know how I missed it. It makes me question my basic competence in life. What gets me is that I try so hard to survey the world of potential idiocy. Then I find out there’s a monument to idiocy sitting right in front of my face that I was blind to. I’m removing the turf, yet I’m still stuck with this seemingly unsolvable problem of how to not be an idiot.

As a single White woman, I know & understand the struggle.

But the problem is THERE ARE NO WHITE DONORS in Australia.
There are months to years waiting lists for White European donors.
There are thousands of donors of all other races but WHITE.

A company valued at billions can't configure a .map file correctly. I have an open GDPR data request with Anthropic right now. Their privacy toggle was default-ON since August 2025 and nobody told their users. Now their entire codebase leaks through npm. This is not a bug. This is a culture. If they can't protect their own code, what makes you think they protect yours?
