Very excited to share our new work on perturbing WDR5 function in Burkitt lymphoma cells. Long overdue, this is my first publication 😅. Here, we demonstrate WIN site inhibition disables only a subset of WDR5 function. nature.com/articles/s4159… /1

@Pharmdca @JamesFlowerIII identification, screen for hits, pharmacokinetic optimization, preclinical trials etc to reach IND then average clinical trials take up to ten years. How will streamlining review get full timeline down to 1-2 years. It can help trials not blow up entirely sure

@Pharmdca @JamesFlowerIII You said go from 10-15 years down to 1-2 years then mention EMA approval being 210 days. The EMA process is streamlined but still relies on trial data. Probably twice as fast as FDA but both cases you still must do~ 5 years of basic science, which does not involve FDA, for target

Imagine, however, if: Per Ackman (1) you could create a drug in a much shorter period of time, a year or two, rather than 10-15 years, and the total cost to get it approved and marketed to patients was a fraction of the cost of a typical drug. This should be good for the industry and patients

You also might be inclined to believe this not because you “hate Elizabeth Holmes,” but rather because she did in fact perpetrate an elaborate scheme to defraud investors, as established by a mountain of bulletproof journalism, federal investigations and a criminal trial.

WATCH: To better understand the background that led to #TheTennesseeThree, take a look at my 2020 investigation of a 2014 gun law that has led to many deaths. TN Republicans don't want to penalize people for leaving guns unlocked in cars because "Tennesseans love their guns."

Wow: Tennessee state Rep. Justin Jones, one of the Dems that the GOP is trying to expel from state legislature to protesting gun violence, calls out his colleagues on the floor ‘For years, one of your colleagues, an admitted child molester, sat in this chamber – no expulsion’

Allis was a beacon of light illuminating the field of chromatin biology. His contributions to deciphering the histone code undoubtedly place him in line for a Nobel. He was even first to demonstrate WDR5 binding H3 and the effects of WDR5 depletion, central elements of my thesis.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved colleague and friend, C. David Allis. Aside from his groundbreaking contributions to biomedical science, David will be remembered for his warmth, humility, and relentless optimism.

Just Released Deepest-ever view of the cosmos from @NASAWebb. The spiked objects are local stars in our own Galaxy. ignore them. Everything else is an entire galaxy. Many distort into arcs, revealing spacetime curvature from the gravity of a galaxy cluster in the image's center.

@asonfrio Not an expert on this but I think current evidence suggests Eukaryotes evolved from Archea because have a similar system for replicating DNA. I would agree that the symbiotic relationships between microbiota and eukaryotes facilitate diversification of life by increasing euks

hey could eukaryotes evolve on a planet without bacteria? would it be dumb to conceive of a diverse genetic phylum that doesn’t explode with bacteria but still produces organisms? like bacteria could’ve gone extinct? or never arrived? i don’t understand biology btw

@KwiatBerlin Yes, I've seen the paper, but am amazed that $GSK didn't PR it. Presumably it's not a relevant setting in commercial terms.
