Pantikapaion was an ancient Hellenic city on the eastern shore of Crimea, which the Greeks called Taurica. City lay on the western side of the Cimmerian Bosporus, and was founded by Milesians in late 7th or early 6th Century BC, on a hill later named Mount Mithridat. Its ruins now lie in the modern city of Kerch. In 5th–4th Centuries BC, city became the residence of the Helleno-Thracian kings of Bosporus, and was hence itself sometimes called Bosporus. Its economic decline in 4th–3rd Centuries BC, was the result of the Sarmatian conquest of steppes and growing competition of Egyptian grain. #archaeohistories

@nicolawriting @DrRJWarren This is a new low for this lot. At this rate, juries and judges will be replaced with 'carefully chosen' MPs who will always reach the 'right' verdict. In fact, they will save loads of money by doing away with trials altogether. No expensive courts or judges.

The Government is planning to override juries if they make the ‘wrong’ decision in acquitting those peacefully but desperately alerting us to a worsening crisis they are continuing to ignore. No longer democracy, is it?
