Fighting to get 3.8 million ExcludedUK Victims financial restitution Help me to keep this in the public eye. https://t.co/k70mi0pJPB

Reports today say Labour MP Josh Simons is standing down from Makerfield so Andy Burnham can seek a route back into Parliament, with Burnham confirming he will request Labour NEC permission to stand. Andy Burnham has been one of the very few senior political voices to consistently acknowledge the devastating injustice faced by the 3.8 million UK taxpayers who were excluded from parity of Covid-19 financial support. He has joined #ExcludedUK livestreamed events, listened to those affected, challenged the lack of fairness, and raised the wider failures of Covid financial support at the Covid Inquiry. So today’s news that Josh Simons MP is stepping down to allow Andy Burnham the opportunity to seek a return to Parliament is significant. This is not about party politics. It is about whether the voices of the excluded, the bereaved, the broken, the still struggling and the never-compensated will finally be heard where decisions are made. For too long, our community has been ignored, dismissed and expected to simply disappear. We are still here...minus +40 who felt no other option but to take their own lives... and hundreds who attempted to. ExcludedUK will continue to work with anyone, from any party or none, who is willing to fight for truth, justice and recognition for the 3.8 million who dutifully paid in, but were deliberately left out. To talk about how you can support our campaign, please contact jennifer@excludeduk.org excludeduk.org DID YOU GET LITTLE OR NO FINANCIAL SUPPORT DURING COVID? Were you excluded from fair and equal Covid-19 financial support? If so, join some of the other 3.8 million UK taxpayers who were, as we campaign for this scandal to be put right.. bit.ly/3UunLTY Dutifully paid in, deliberately left out! @Nigel_Farage With you still bluntly refusing to represent your #ExcludedUK in #clacton #Essex, we suggest that you also now visit as they feel totally let down after all of the support shown by Giles Watling. @ExcludedUK @APPGGapsSupport @ClactonGazette @Essex_Echo x.com/EmmaLewell/sta…

Labour has highlighted gaps in the Government's support schemes for nine long months, but yet again today it had nothing new to say. Failing to fix these problems won’t just cause more hardship for the @ExcludedUK, it risks holding back the economic recovery we all want to see.

Despite years of paying taxes, 3 million people have been left with no support from the government since this pandemic began. It is an injustice on an industrial scale. @RishiSunak – do the right thing and give @ExcludedUK the proper support they need. #ParityNotCharity

"Eight people in ten days" have taken their own lives due to lack of government support, says the SNP's Ian Blackford, "these people need help" "We're investing massively in mental health support across the country," replies Boris Johnson #PMQs bbc.in/3g0Fqfn

Brilliant question from @UKLabour’s @AlexDaviesJones on the plight of those #excluded from Government support. @SteveBarclay says “we’ve covered this” 😱 Tell that to the millions of people left struggling by this Government’s complete inaction. They’re not going away.

The Government needs to provide help for the three million excluded from financial support - it is "basic fairness and humanity," says Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham. @ShelaghFogarty | @AndyBurnhamGM

I’m hearing the NEC isn’t as sewn up for Burnham as many are reporting. The vote is on a “knife edge” I’m told by sources close to the decision making body. “Everyone is wavering.” Number 10 might be briefing it is comfortable with shortlisting Burnham, but that’s not to say the 9 member officer committee agrees. “I don’t think any of us are taking notice of what [Number 10] are saying”, I’m told. NEC officers now expected to decide on Sunday or Monday.
