ICE detainee numbers at Mesa Gateway dropped to their lowest levels all year ahead of my inspection with @RepYassAnsari in February. Our surprise oversight visit on Thursday showed the reality: massive overcrowding and dangerous conditions. azmirror.com/2026/04/10/ice…

Secretary Marco Rubio
Masoumeh Ebtekar - also known as "Screaming Mary" - was the spokeswoman for the Islamic terrorists who stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979 and held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days - subjecting them to beatings, starvation, and mock executions. In 2014, the Obama Administration granted visas to her son and his family to enter the United States. In June 2016, the Obama Administration gave them lawful permanent resident status via the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program. This week, I terminated their lawful permanent resident status and today, Seyed Eissa Hashemi, Maryam Tahmasebi, and their son are now in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement pending their removal from our country. Her family should never have been allowed to benefit from the extraordinary privilege of living in our country. America can never become home for anti-American terrorists or their families - and under the Trump Administration, it never will.

Myself, @RepGregStanton and @RepYassAnsari just finished a surprise oversight visit at a temporary ICE holding site in Mesa, AZ. We visited immediately after learning about credible reports of overcrowding and that is exactly what we saw. The conditions are horrific.

As impressive as legendary rancher Charles Goodnight was, his wife Mary Ann "Molly" Goodnight may have been even more impressive. Her life story borders on unbelievable. Mary Ann “Molly” Goodnight was born September 12, 1839, in Madison County, Tennessee, the daughter of Joel Henry and Susan Lynch (Miller) Dyer. Charles Goodnight called her Mary, though most people knew her as Molly. She later became known across the Texas Panhandle as the “Mother of the Panhandle,” a title earned not by sentiment but by long years of practical service on the frontier. In 1877, she and her Charles helped establish the JA Ranch in Palo Duro Canyon in partnership with John George Adair. For a time, Molly was the only woman on that remote and demanding spread. Cowboys came to rely on her for medical care, meals, and steady judgment. She filled whatever role was needed, from nurse to cook to counselor, in a place where help was scarce and distances were long. Her familiarity with hardship began early. In 1854, at fourteen, she and her family moved to Fort Belknap, Texas. Not long after, both of her parents died, and she took responsibility for raising her younger brothers. She supported them in part by teaching school in the late 1850s and early 1860s, while her older brothers served in the Confederacy during the Civil War. She met Charles Goodnight around 1864 and later moved to Weatherford to continue teaching. Charles and Mary Ann married on July 26, 1870 but never had any children. The couple first ranched near Pueblo, Colorado, where several of Molly’s brothers joined them in the business. The conditions there were rough, and Molly found them difficult. After financial strain brought on by the Panic of 1873 and ongoing drought, the Goodnights returned to Texas, where Adair’s backing allowed them to expand operations in the Panhandle. When they made this move back to Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Adair, Charles Goodnight, Molly, Molly's brother Albert Dyer, and several cowhands moved a herd to the Palo Duro Canyon and put up a two-room cabin about May 1877. Mrs. Adair rode horseback while Molly drove a team and wagon. In a few weeks the Adairs left the enterprise to Charles and Molly. At Palo Duro Canyon, Molly managed the domestic side of ranch life under isolated conditions. One significant aspect to this was the lack of female company: at one point she wrote that it had been fifteen months since she'd seen another woman. She rode a specially designed sidesaddle, kept a few chickens, and maintained a household that also functioned as a support center for the ranch hands. Such a diversity of responsibility would have proved difficult on any ranch in Texas, but Molly's home counted as one of its borders a solitary canyon 1,500 feet deep, 10 miles wide and almost 100 miles long, where once Comanche Indians roamed and camped She is also remembered for helping preserve the Southern Plains bison. When hunters left calves orphaned, Molly raised them, contributing to the development of the Goodnight buffalo herd. Some of these animals were later crossbred with cattle, producing what were called “cattalo.” In addition, she maintained her own branded herds and took an interest in documenting the region, commissioning artist J. C. Cowles to paint scenes of the ranch and canyon. In 1887, the Goodnights moved to northeastern Armstrong County. As the region became more settled, Molly became involved in community efforts, supporting churches, schools, and charitable work. She helped establish Goodnight College in 1898, and the nearby town of Goodnight was named for the couple. Molly Goodnight died in April 1926. Her headstone reads, “One who spent her whole life in the service of others,” a description that closely matches the record she left behind. As I said, she was a truly remarkable woman.

Legendary baseball coach Rene Lachemann gave this kid a whole life lesson in minutes. 😂 He is the pure definition of “Old School”! 💯 Most of the kids today (and their parents) would cry with that simple conversation. 😭 Kids today need a talking to like this and not all the woke stuff they hear out there. Flipping awesome! So cool! ❤️
