Elevation Church (one of the prominent megachurches in the United States) had a total investment portfolio of nearly $200M at the end of 2024. I'm an American Baptist, I just checked our total denominational investments. $30.1M.

Awful logic and argumentation here. Early retirees must have excellent retirement benefits and significant dividend investments to afford early retirement. Why should taxpayers who don't have certainty about retirement subsidize those who have the means to retire early? This is a loose use of "family" too —do they have school-age kids at home they are trying to afford?

Theology 101: I’m surprised at the number of folks who reject the perspicuity of Scripture who seem to embrace the perspicuity of the church fathers. Like, you can’t understand the Bible without the Fathers, but with minimal effort you’re a patristic scholar?

Three thoughts on Ryder Cup Foursomes disaster:
1. Keegan made four bad choices: Thomas (not playing well coming in), Morikawa (see Thomas), Scottie on even holes (plenty of analytics out to know you should have long hitter on odds), and Henley as the course was setup for bombers (see below).
2. The short rough helps the less accurate Europeans, poor setup by Americans.
3. American polo shirts have zippers instead of buttons, which can't help.
