I’m not sure what the fascination is with overseas travel. It’s disruptive to team practice and rest schedules, and has a negative effect on the normal season flow for players. I feel bad for fans in the UK and elsewhere, and I’m not trying to exclude them. But c’mon. If Americans want to attend a cricket match, or are rugby fans, they’re not bringing it to us. Anyone who wants to travel here from across the pond is always very welcome. We’ll even buy the pints for our visiting friends. This whole international travel thing is just a pet project for Goodell, who is more interested in making money than protecting league integrity and player well-being. Players, coaches, staff and beat media have all season to see Europe or South America. Keep it out of the active season. Please.
