@Davis_Munene @ole_ppaps @WashiraX How will you do it for youself? because Google and the other companies have not changed any of the subscriptions to show this KRA change
English

@ole_ppaps @WashiraX When you file your returns they will check the amounts you have submitted under software license and check what you have remitted under withholding taxes and if they don’t add up, they will call you aside for a friendly cup of tea.
English

Kenya has introduced a new 25% tax on software subscriptions.
One of the principles of a good tax system is simplicity.
Taxes should be easy to understand. Easy to comply with. And inexpensive to administer.
Finance Act 2026 has introduced new rules for software subscriptions.
• The Act now classifies payments for software licences and software subscriptions as royalties.
- As a result, every time you pay an overseas software company, you are now required to withhold 20% tax and remit it to KRA.
- Then pay the software company the remaining 80%.
For example.
Suppose you pay Google, Amazon or Microsoft USD 1,000 every year for software subscriptions.
The law says:
• Confiscate 20%, USD 200.
• Remit it to KRA.
Then pay the software company USD 800.
There is only one problem, however.
- Software subscriptions are paid either in full or not at all.
Google does not care that you have complied with the Kenyan tax laws. You either pay them 1,000 USD or go home.
So what happens to continue using the software and keep KRA happy?
- You pay Google their full USD 1,000.
In doing so, KRA treats the USD 1,000 as the net amount after withholding tax. That means the original invoice is deemed to have been USD 1,250. How?
Ulikua unaangalia mwalimu na ruler ukiuliza hesabu ya cross multiplication itakusaidia aje maishani. Ona Sasa.
If USD 1,000 = 80%,
Then 100% = USD 1,250.
The withholding tax therefore becomes USD 250.
Meaning:
• Google gets their full USD 1,000.
• Then you go back to your pocket to pay KRA USD 250.
Total software cost = USD 1,250.
In effect, the law has quietly introduced a 25% tax on many software subscriptions.
Even if a small taxpayer genuinely wanted to comply, how exactly are they supposed to comply when the giant software company insists on being paid in full?
This is the new law. Adjust accordingly.

@Voncheeze @_Zeets Nah, he called for the ball himself, he knew he had the space and the ball was placed right in front of him, even when you look at his pace, he slowed down to go for the shot then somehow changed. Some of these African players are definitely not playing to win
English

I dont think its matxh fixing because thats the same player that provided the assist for Ivory Coast's goal in the game......I think the brights were deadass so bright for him that he blanked out and instictively wanted to do a first touch with the ball first when thats the absolute worst time to try that.....also he underestimated the speed of the German defense as he probably thought he had time to do it as well but now he knows he did not and he had to figure that out the worst way for a young player like himself mentally.....he is not gonna live that down tbh until he uses it as motivation to get better

Well at this point it looks like the US is trying to destroy the world cup because everyone else doesn't call it soccer and they suck at it, they call protective rugby football, what did we expect?

Kenya is not for beginners! A matatu driver and his assistant wamejaa ngori and driven tehir Abirias to the GSU Headquarters Thika Rd after they refused to pay fare. Abiria says assistant driver alisema gari ni 80 wakiingia, then changed it to 100 bob while enroute. They have refused to pay the 100, they have refused to climb down at the GSU HQs, ati warudishwe tao bas mahali waliwatoa wachukue gari ya 80. The hard-eyed and hard-headed Abiria wamesema ati sio hao waliambia watu wa matatu waingizwe boks na serikali warudi kwa barabara. Imebidi tu Kondakta akubali hiyo 80. Awuoro!

Hello Nyakundi,
Please hide my identity. I am a staff member at Artcaffé, and we are really suffering under the current management conditions at the branch.
First, last week our PHs, off days, and leave days were deducted simply because of the matatu strike, something that was completely beyond our control as employees. It is unfair for management to punish staff for a nationwide transport crisis that affected everyone.
Secondly, the transport situation for staff working late shifts is becoming dangerous. Imagine the staff van arriving at the branch around 1:40 AM, then dropping employees along the highway at around 2 AM and leaving everyone to figure out how to get home safely on their own. This is not secure at all, especially for staff members going home at such hours.
The worst issue is the “FUNGA FUNGUA” shifts. Right now it is around 3 AM and I have just come from the PM shift, yet I am expected to wake up again at 4 AM to prepare and report back to work. We barely get any sleep. You enter the next shift already exhausted and sleepy, which is extremely risky especially in a busy restaurant environment where mistakes and accidents can easily happen because of fatigue.
We are mentally and physically drained. Some of us cannot even sleep properly because by the time you reach home, it is already time to prepare for the next shift again. This is not healthy and it is affecting staff wellbeing badly.
Another major issue is staff meals. There is no proper breakfast and sometimes no lunch at all, yet employees are expected to work long exhausting hours. Nobody seems concerned about staff welfare anymore.
Please let this reach HR because workers are really suffering. We are asking management to listen to staff concerns and improve these working conditions before things get worse.
