I've read the stats.
Addiction clinics have a success rate of 4-35%.
The bigger issue is that no one even asked if they should.
They answered the first question of "Well can we?" with "No, we can't."
but they followed it up with
-"but we can all get insanely wealthy if we try."

Everything is now viewed through the lens of addiction. All of a sudden cancer, Lupus, RA, SCD, Crohn's, etc. doesn't matter unless the patient can be funneled into the fraudulent addiction industry that has no oversight. While media continues to discuss the Sacklers and funding pain orgs took 15 years ago, there is ZERO transparency for addiction orgs, pharma funding, gov grants, treatment centers, etc. When will addiction industry have oversight and scrutiny the way pain orgs and pharma has? If you knew much about the Suboxone pushers, the pharma funded DSM, those who are over SAMHSA, etc, maybe you'd care. Or, when it's your 80 year old mother screaming on her death bed with untreated agony due to "prevention."

Another patient advocate reached out to #ORRP, Opioid Rapid Response Program. Not only dd they not help, they were nasty. @RFKJr_Official as head of HHS, shouldn't we have access to outcome reports from this program funded by tax dollars? I was told those aren't for public consumption.

When we helped support someone who lost their pain doctor, the absolute circus we experienced attempting to contact the ORRP to help them was shameful. Not only was it zero help it was condescending & a very upsetting . Unorganized / zero help for a patient in crisis.

@ChadDKollas Many procedures that pain clinics are now forcing patients to go through in order to get pain. Medication are far more risky than the pain medication itself they carry risk of paralyzation of drying out the natural fluids in between joints, causing bone and bone, pain and more

Yes, this is an apples & oranges comparison, but the point is that all medical treatments - surgeries, medications, procedures- carry risk of harms for patients. Quantifying that risk is critical to facilitate meaningful discussions with patients for shared decision-making.

It’s interesting how PROP and other opioid reductionists talk about the “high risk of addiction” of opioid therapy, but never accurately contextualize that risk. Based on the FDA PMRs released in May 2025, that addiction risk (~1.5%) is comparable to the risk of “Distal embolization during lower extremity endovascular interventions.”
