The Soustiels & Hagouels knew each other before the war. So it was happenstance that after my Uncle Freddy was liberated at Monowitz (Buna) Medical/Labor Camp, he emigrated to America, however he had overstayed his Visa and had a Warrant issued by the FBI. My Papa Issac, gave him a job working at Lindas's Sportswear & Comany in NYC. Furthermore, my Uncle Freddy (Auchwitz No 114987), was able to somehow survive 4 different Concentration Camps & a labor Camp. He really never spoke about it, but I ALWAYS wondered why he had that number tattooed on his left forearm. It was not until I was old enough to understand what Happened during The Holocaust, that he told me to "ALWAYS REMEMBER & NEVER FORGET". Also, it was not until he gave his testimony to the @USCShoahFdn and writing this autobiography was he able to talk about the horrors of his experience from Auchwitz to Monowitz (Buna). His wife of over 50 years, my Aunt Pearl Soustiel bat Penina Sara (Hagouel) z"l just passed 2 weeks before Pesach. She gave me all of the records (photos, video testimony, and evidence) from my Uncle's time from Pre-Holocaust until his journey to NYC. This is the best book I’ve read in 2023. @AngelaWMarshall gives a great pre- and post-pandemic lens of how our American health care systems are failing our patients. I appreciate her use of current research in case some people had doubts. 1/3
