#AAAAI24 Non-allergic rhinitis is a difficult to treat common condition in which sensitivity to smells, fumes or cold ❄️ dry air causes nasal congestion & runny nose. Allergy meds often don’t help. New hope: low dose 🌶 capsaicin nasal treatment decreased reactivity. Spicy!

As per 2019 AAP guidelines, you NO longer need to feed one new food every 3-5 days.
I repeat - DONT NEED TO DO THIS!
For patients with FPIES, consider 1 new food per meal!

Can’t wait for the epi doesn’t necessarily mean ED parameters! Better to give epi than to not give because you don’t want to head to the ED!
Dr. Dave Stukus@AllergyKidsDoc
- Shared decision making surrounding anaphylaxis will be a major component of new guidance...requires long personal conversations with one's own doctor: - Food allergies are a spectrum & not everyone requires an epinephrine prescription - Use of epi doesn't = automatic ER visit
