ACNA praise band parishes (led by a pastor who grew up in a Baptist or nondenom church) not only don't use hymnals, but may not even know (let alone care) about 160+ years of Anglican hymnody.

@NorthAmAnglican Sing Unto the Lord is intended for Hymnal 1982 parishes. In terms of ethos, it's somewhere between 1980s TEC and 2020s ACNA. If I were at a contemporary worship ACNA parish (I'm not), I'd consider both. If the parish uses both Rite I & II (or 2019/2022), I'd compare MTL and SUtL.

@NorthAmAnglican You should read the two parts of the review. But for a lot of reasons, if you want an update to Hymnal (1940) then (like a few dozen BCP 1928 parishes) you will prefer Magnify the Lord, which has similar goals and ethos.
