The Taliban no longer allows Afghan women to see with both eyes.
They already required women to cover their entire bodies, leaving only their eyes visible underneath the burqa.
But now even that is being restricted. Women are now only allowed to see with one eye!
Eid Mubarak!
@OverlyTrev I don't have a new fancy car. As much as I would love to have a Tesla, I cannot afford the up front cost!! It would take years to break even, and by then I would need a new one
There is a huge misconception when people claim it only takes 5 minutes to fill up a gas tank versus charging an EV.
Here are the key considerations:
1. The typical time spent at a gas pump is 8–9 minutes, but it varies:
- Circle K: 8.9 minutes
- Sheetz: 11.5 minutes
- Wawa: 11.4 minutes
- Buc-ee’s: 20.3 minutes
2. Filling up requires driving to the station, which can take 10–45 minutes depending on your location and the nearest station.
3. Oil changes and maintenance take time and money (even if you do them yourself, you still have to buy oil and perform the work). EVs eliminate this entirely.
4. Home charging takes seconds to plug in, and you wake up to a full charge the next day.
5. In March, I spent $9 on electricity while current gas prices are $3.49/gallon—a savings of over $60 in fuel for the month.
6. Adding up time and money saved over a year comes to roughly 15–30 hours and over $750, and I don’t even drive that much.
EV’s save you time and money and once you have one you’ll never go back to gas.
@Notwokenow Allowance???? He's 21. that makes no sense. I think they reworded the article to make it sound better. Probably more like he was trying to rob her.
Arlington, Texas, resident Rontrell Jackson, 21, was arrested for murder after killing his grandmother.
Jackson allegedly killed his 68 year old grandmother after arguing about his allowance.
Police said Jackson shot his grandmother inside their home on Friday, and then dragged her body to the porch, where he covered her up with a blanket.
A family member later found her unresponsive on the porch and called 911. She was declared dead on the scene. It was later determined that she had been shot.
A 21 year old man arguing over HIS ALLOWANCE got enraged enough to kill.
when I worked in insurance the automatic response was denied for anything that was not understood. I took on a roomful of boxes of claims for those that refused to accept it. Most were payable. Fight for your benefits. and don't get warranties if you have to pay for them.. they are useless.
The dishwasher broke
My wife said "good thing we have the home warranty"
I said nothing
I've been paying $62 a month for three years for this moment
$2,232 for the peace of mind that when something breaks someone will come to the house and tell me it's not covered
I called
47 minutes on hold
They sent a technician
Arrival window: Tuesday through Thursday between 8am and 5pm
My analyst delivers faster than that
And he still hasn't fixed the gridlines
He showed up Wednesday at 4:47pm
Looked at the dishwasher
Opened the door
Closed the door
Touched something underneath
Said "not covered"
90 seconds
That's faster than my bank lets me prove I'm human
I said "what's covered"
He said "the motor"
I said "what's wrong with it"
He said "not the motor"
I said "convenient"
He said the service fee is $75
I paid a man $75 to open my dishwasher, close my dishwasher, and say two words
My analyst could do that
And he's not even that good
I called the warranty company back
38 minutes on hold
Requested the policy
129 pages
I read all 129 pages
Because that's what I do
The coverage section is 34 pages
The exclusions section is 58
The business model is right there
In the margins
Where nobody reads
Except me
Page 91 says "all mechanical and electrical components essential to appliance function are covered under standard service"
Page 104 excludes control panels
A control panel is an electrical component essential to appliance function
Their own document contradicts itself 13 pages apart
I highlighted both
Sent them an email
Subject line: "Plz fix. Thx."
Attached both pages
No other context
Took them three days to send a technician
Took them 4 hours to call me back when I found the loophole
Funny how that works
They covered the repair
Waived the $75
And I canceled the warranty anyway
Because a contract that contradicts itself isn't a contract
It's a suggestion
My wife said "so we're canceling"
I said "we're canceling"
She said "and the dishwasher"
I said "fixed. They're covering it."
She said "how"
I said "I read the policy"
She said "all 129 pages"
I said "the exclusions section starts on page 47. The coverage section ends on page 34. There are 13 pages between them where they hoped nobody would look."
She looked at me
Then she said "you're unbelievable"
I said "I just saved us $744 a year and got a free dishwasher repair. I'm not unbelievable. I'm thorough."
She looked at the ceiling
The dishwasher works now
The warranty is canceled
And the policy has been read
By at least one person
Probably the first
Make common sense common again
Plz fix. Thx.

$60 BILL… $30 TIP?!
This is what popped up on a restaurant screen—
$60.50 check
$29.88 tip
And it’s labeled like it’s “normal.”
People are starting to question these kiosks…
because that math isn’t adding up.
Turns out the system may have briefly included OTHER tables in the total before adjusting…
But imagine not catching that.
One tap… and you just overpaid big.
Are you checking the screen every time - or just hitting pay? ⬇️ 🇺🇸
The key word there was the first one, followed by the second and third.
I said many states do, and I followed that up by saying it MIGHT be a universal thing.
Not once did I say with 100% certainty that it was.

Am I in the wrong?
I was scheduled to work 8am to 4pm. I show up to my shift early and then my manager shows up and decides she wants me to close and come in later because she doesn't feel like closing. I told her that this wasn't discussed with me beforehand and I have already made prior engagements, which means I can't just all of a sudden work a different shift that I wasn't informed about until now. So instead she got upset and just told me that if I won't close then she doesn't want me here at all and sent me home. Like am I in the wrong here?
They had already allocated his organs.
In 2015, Texas father George Pickering II refused to accept doctors’ declaration that his son was brain dead following a massive stroke.
When hospital staff began withdrawing life support & had already contacted organ donation services.
Pickering took a stand & barricaded himself inside the hospital room with a gun triggering a tense three-hour SWAT standoff.
During negotiations, Pickering repeatedly insisted his son was still alive.
Then came a moment that changed everything: on command, his son squeezed his hand, proving he was still responsive.
Pickering eventually surrendered peacefully and spent nearly a year in jail for his actions.
Against all expectations, his son survived and went on to recover.
Why did he spend time in jail when he was just defending his son’s life.
When you are an organ donor, they try to take you off life support pretty quickly.
People in the medical industry are going to hate hearing this but most hospitals are full of evil. People are not treated like human beings. You treated like chattel. Instead of calculating how they can help you they calculate how much money they can make off of you including auctioning off your organs.
@TruthFairy131 force them to get an MRI to prove it. I worked in MRI for 2 decades and the brain looks a certain way if it's truly 'dead'. These organ traders are very aggressive.
@paradisemint@The_Money_Buddy Yeah, I'm boiling it down from a private physician perspective. If I don't ever have to talk to insurance to get paid, I need less staff, so I can charge less. Very simplistic but this is effectively how it is.
once ACA was forcing us to get insurance, I went with the High deductible plans because they were much much cheaper. And that is when I realized that the math was not mathing to have the regular type of insurance. The last 2 jobs I had were Zero cost to me. And I hate insurance so much I went to the DR as little as possible. Maybe 1x a year to get my BP meds filled.
Easy, all hospitals and medical offices have a cash discount program. You just have to ask for it. They give huge discounts when you pay up front instead of them waiting 90 days for an insurance company to pay.
Also factor in your insurance only pays 80% on most plans and that is after normally a massive deductible.
Here is an example. I have to get an annual ecocardiogram. Under insurance it was $4800 for that test. My insurance pays 80% but that is after I cover a $6000 deductible. Or I can pay $1100 up front to get it. No extra costs. Put it on a credit card and get 2% cash back. And I already stated how much my doctors visits were lowered. And keep if you have insurance, you’re paying hundreds monthly in premiums. For me health insurance premiums were about 10K a year. Then add in the 5K deductible and it takes 15K a year in bills just to break even. And still, they are only covering 80% after that. Do the match. It is a total scam.
Even having a stent put in my heart. which I have done. Cost paying cash. 12K. Otherwise. 80K bill to insuarnce. 6K deductible and insurance pays 80% on 74K equals 59K. Leaving me with a bill of 21K How the hell is my bill higher with insurance vs paying cash?
The problem is that no one ever reads the fine print on their health insurance. They don’t even see the part on their bill in small letter where it says insurance payments and discounts. That amount they show is not what your insurance actually paid. They do not have to disclose that to you. It is a total scheme to make you think you are getting something.
Next time your in a doctors office tell them you canceled your insurance and ask them for their cash price instead. You will be shocked!
@paradisemint@The_Money_Buddy I still pay cash for my scripts because I refuse to pay more and I refuse to go the 'preferred pharmacy'. I will be 65 in 2 years and will refuse all the insurance if they try to charge me those extortion rates.
I canceled my health insurance long ago and never looked back. The 27K ER bill you don’t pay for 45 days. Call them back and offer them $4K cash to settle right now and they will take it every time. One 4K bill now and then vs $800 a month for health insurance that has a 5K deductible and then only pays 80% after that. Do that math. Insurance is a scam. You are better in most cases to ask for a cash discount.
When on insurance, my cardiologist visits were $250 out of pocket. After I canceled my insurance and told them I was paying cash my visits were $125. How is it that it was double when I had insurance. Everything I did was cheaper on a cash basis.
@MikeAgrow@joeroganhq private should be kept private. I do not think going around talking about that stuff is helpful. I had a baby at 16 and I agree it DID shape the rest of my life.
@joeroganhq Grateful her parents supported her choices. Bodily autonomy at 16 can literally shape the rest of your life, but thanking God for an abortion is kinda.....
Chelsea Handler: "I got pregnant a couple of times when I was a teenager and got abortions. Thank God my parents had the sense to make sure that happened."
@joeroganhq if you don't want to be hated on or hassled you keep that stuff to yourself. (for either choice). Just like proclaiming to the world what kind of sex you like. that shit is private. Keep it private!!
