@SolomonforJC It's terrifying to think of getting kicked out of JC by the gentrifiers (colonizers). They have weaponized private property against people who do not have wealth. No one stands up for the "little people," who are now everyone except the developers and wealthy people.

In the coming days, you'll be receiving your fourth quarter tax bills in the mail, which will carry another 7% increase against the last quarter. This is unacceptable.

@StevenFulop So getting gentrified out of JC is your solution? It's utterly heartbreaking to lose one's home and not afford to live in a city where you have lived for the past 25 years. Tired of all of your support for developers at the expense of just about everyone else except the wealthy.

Im a Dad of 2 (4yo + 2yo) and a 3rd on the way. Im just as concerned as everyone else with what NJ will be in 20 years if we don’t take bold action. I want NJ to continue to be the best place to raise a family in the country. Tomorrow we share part 1 of #FixNJ - Part 1 #FixNJ is how we will approach transportation in #NewJersey and it’s very different than some of the steps happening today. From NJT trains, to congestion pricing, to motor vehicle, to light rail expansion, to the PATH, to bus routes, and more…. Details matter and im clear in how I would approach all - this is part 1 of our plan #FixNJ

@Heritage So you support enriching yourself as the highest priority in life and ruling in favor of the rich. HF has nothing to do with justice.

“Right is still right, even if you stand by yourself.” Clarence Thomas is trending again, so it’s the perfect time to remind everyone how fortunate America is to have a justice like him on the Supreme Court.

@StevenFulop Stop gentrifying JC and prioritizing developers above everyone else! You are building a city only for the wealthy and these "opinion" tweets are insulting.

Antarctica & Greenland ice sheets are shrinking. There is *no* recovery You need to look at total mass not simply the snow added at the surface. As surface snow accumulates in the summer but it is all lost and more by melting/runoff and calving @ZLabe zacklabe.com/arctic-sea-ice…

1/2 On Monday we will share our Steven Fulop For Governor Transportation Plan for NJ. My goal is to be more clear than any gubernatorial candidate in NJ history on what my priorities will be/what I will change when elected. I think you as a resident deserve a clear agenda and not just the big rhetoric that most campaigns provide.

See my previous post but the conversation around affordable housing in the region entails market rate housing and supply as much as the conversation includes affordable housing policy. The reality and hard truth is that NYC is just not pulling their weight here for a long time and it pressures everyone else in the tristate area with higher costs

@StevenFulop Outperform is code language for pushing out the middle class, and people made poor so that the rich get all the spoils. Tired of this kind of propaganda!

Not to pile on but worthwhile to contrast this with #JerseyCity just across the river and a fraction of the size of NYC - we continue to outperform relative to everywhere else in the region. In July we had - 576 new units approved, - 97 permits for building construction issued, - 468 new units issued certificate of occupancy And importantly many new businesses interested in JC that never have been here before. Let’s continue the progress!
Mark D. Levine@MarkLevineNYC

Latest #'s are out on new residential buildings approved in NYC. For entire month of July: * Citywide: 10 (small) buildings totaling only 279 units * Manhattan: Zero buildings. Zero units. This should be considered a crisis. We have to fix this.

@StevenFulop @epasid_jc @JerseyCity It is progress only for the wealthy. I am tired of politicians who claim to represent all people but represent only developers and people who can afford to live in JC. Folks cannot afford a 6% increase in taxes, cannot afford skyrocketing rents, cannot afford to eat out, etc.

We push to do the right thing despite the frustrating politics that sometimes challenges progress. I’m sharing this as we are almost done at Exchange Place and it is a HUGE improvement w/a new plaza and playground on the waterfront - photo by insta: @jerseyphotographer

Everyone needs to see what I saw in Eagle Pass today. Clothing stuck on razor wire where families got trapped. Chainsaw devices in the middle of buoys. Land seized from US citizens. Operation Lone Star is barbaric — and @GovAbbott is making border communities collateral damage.

Has the @USCCB responded to this inhumane practice? "Attention must be called to the rights of migrants and their families and to respect for their human dignity, even in cases of non-legal immigration” - 1999, Ecclesia in America, Pope John Paul II This is against our faith.
Laiken Jordahl@LaikenJordahl

Texas Gov Abbott has installed circular saws between the Rio Grande border buoys to maim or kill anyone who attempts to climb over. Two bodies have already been found trapped in the floating barrier. He wants more migrants to die.

When we read about collapse many think, easy we just go back living more from the land. This is simply not correct, soil is massively degraded and most have no idea how much people lived from the wild, like crayfish 🦞 which was more common than we can imagine. Every pond and every water was full of them, beside the fish and oysters 🦪. Remember also the famous feasts from the now extinct passenger pigs. The sky, water and wood was just full. Most in Europe have not the slightest idea of the lost Mega Fauna 🦬 wisents and wild cows - Aurochs. Woods are now full of industrial wood producing trees, no more chestnuts🌰 and other wild fruits and Nuts. Our landscape degraded more we can imagine.
