🌼Daisy🌼 July 10 2014 - July 31 2026 Some dogs are loved. Some dogs are really loved. And then there are dogs like Daisy. Dogs who never have to wonder where they belong. Dogs who spend every day knowing they are someone's whole world. They don't count the years. They count the walks, the muddy paws, the adventures, the stolen tastes from a plate, the quiet evenings, the familiar voices. Daisy's life was full of those things. Full of love. Full of family. Full of home. It breaks my heart that you are gone. But it also makes me smile thinking about the life you had. Because Daisy, you had a wonderful life. You were loved every single day. You went on adventures. You enjoyed lovely meals. You had a family who worshipped you. You had everything a dog could ever want. And that is something worth celebrating. Today is incredibly hard. The darkest of days. The days where nothing anyone says can take away that emptiness. But when I think of you, Daisy, this is what I see. A lucky dog. And a lucky family. You and your family found each other. You were made for each other. You gave each other so much joy, comfort and love throughout your lives together. And I find something incredibly touching in knowing that you were all together at the end. After a lifetime of being loved, you were surrounded by the people who loved you most. Your family was there. Your people were there. There is something beautiful about that. About a life beginning and ending with the same thing: love. That love doesn't disappear today. It hurts because it mattered. It hurts because it was real. Seeing you and Linda visit Dog Mountain last week feels especially poignant now. I'm not a religious man, but I am a spiritual one. I like to think that all those beautiful dogs you and Linda honoured, remembered and celebrated are there now to return that kindness. I like to think Daisy, you are being welcomed like a princess... like a queen. All those wonderful dogs from across the world who were remembered with such love are there to greet you, celebrate you and make sure you never spend a single moment alone. Until the day you are reunited with the family who loved you so completely. And if my Bert is there too, waiting to greet beautiful Daisy... That thought brings me comfort. I'd be very thankful for that. ❤️ Daisy, you will be missed. But you will be remembered. You will be celebrated. And you will always be loved.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of retired K9 Queenie. Queenie retired earlier this summer after ten years of dedicated service and had been enjoying retirement with her handler, Lt. Cody Ashmore, and his family. Throughout her career, Queenie proudly served the residents of Oklahoma City and the State of Oklahoma as a member of the Oklahoma City Fire Department K9 Team and Oklahoma Task Force One. She responded to numerous local and out of state deployments, assisting with search and rescue operations during disasters and other emergencies. We are grateful for Queenie's years of service and the contributions she made alongside her fellow responders. Our thoughts are with Lt. Ashmore, his family, and the members of the K9 Team during this difficult time. Thank you for your service, Queenie. Rest easy. 🐾🙏🏻

My dog passed away this morning. Some time just before 6am. He had a wheezey cough. I didn't hear him coughing or anything that made me think he was in distress. I went out back to go check on him (as usual) and he was.. gone 😔. Perry. 13 years old. He lived. He was here.
