@IanRossUK @JMPWASH Should have been two years ago? I appreciate goals, but "magical multiplying" is just a pipe dream. Moreso, there are all sorts of places (fragile contexts, etc.) where needed rates far more than 4x. Useful for advocacy, burden for gov'ts, ignored by implementers.

The @WorldBank's new poverty report feels like a watershed moment. At the halfway point of the SDGs, the Bank has declared the banner goal - ending extreme poverty by 2030 - no longer achievable. Why? The COVID shock and slow recovery have set back progress by at least 4 years.

Sad. Just learned that my good friend, Sahada Traore, longtime member of the @CARE_au_Mali family recently left this world to the next. Sahada was an incredible person - patient, kind, wise beyond his years. His presence was a blessing to all who knew him. Miss you, mon ami.
