BREAKING: Labor is backing another pay rise for 2.7M minimum wage and award workers. Today we've made a submission to the Annual Wage Review recommending the Fair Work Commission award an economically sustainable real wage increase to Australia’s award workers. The minimum wage is now $175 a week higher than when we came to office. This is just another way we're helping with the cost of living, alongside all the support we’re rolling out like tax cuts and cheaper medicines.

@MickamiousG Given how shabbily past & present govts treat veterans, Australians should tell em to get stuffed Australians shouldn't be forced to fight a foreign war only to return to fight the govt for their entitlements & treatment.

Conscription of Australians is being brought up in the media more often, this isn’t a random occurrence, it’s because the world is becoming more unstable with other nations than ever before. Normalising the discussion with the media is always the first step to taking the. Ext step. The question you really need to ask yourself; What will you do?

@OMGTheMess I think an optional preference system is the way to go. A voter can mark as few or as many boxes they want.

Australia's diversity is our strength. And I’m proud our team is as diverse as the communities we represent. Different backgrounds, different perspectives, all making us a better government. On the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, we’re committed to making sure every Australian feels safe and respected. No matter what language you speak, or what faith you practice.

We’ve set up a new Fuel Supply Taskforce, led by Anthea Harris. Working with states and territories, the taskforce will make sure fuel gets where it’s needed most. It will bring together experts and industry to protect our fuel supply, and make sure we have the latest information on supply and demand.

@AntBA013 @OMGTheMess @imbrianmur Agree, however, instead of the world sitting on their hands and complaining that supply is limited and costs are rising, they could, I dunno, maybe send some ships to protect the tankers? It by no means that they have entered the war, historical examples show this.

Today the independent Reserve Bank Monetary Policy Board increased the cash rate by 25 basis points. We already had an inflation challenge in our economy but the war in the Middle East is making this challenge worse. At a time of immense global instability, this will put even more pressure on families and businesses. Many Australians were already doing it tough and are now feeling the impact of conflict in the Middle East through higher petrol prices as well. That’s why we’re rolling out responsible cost of living relief and taking action to give consumers a fair go at the bowser, through higher penalties, more surveillance and more supply.

Devastating news for Australian homeowners under @JEChalmers’ active inflation agenda. Inflation “picked up materially in the second half of 2025” forcing the @RBAInfo to up rates. And all we get in return is denial about the impact of pouring debt petrol on the inflation fire.

Israel's pre-emptive strike against Iran is not dragging U.S. into war, but saving American lives. By degrading Tehran’s nuclear & terror infrastructure now, Israel reduces the likelihood that U.S. forces will face a far more dangerous, nuclear-armed adversary later.

The debt rot started under @JEChalmers as Wayne Swan’s adviser. Most people would be sacked for sending a nation into a trajectory of unsustainable debt. Under Labor Chalmers got promoted to Treasurer and has poured debt petrol onto the inflation bonfire. abc.net.au/news/2026-02-1…
