So delighted to see the Union Cabinet approved much awaited initiative "One Nation One Subscription (ONOS)". The idea of ONOS was mooted as part of draft 5th STI Policy under Open Science initiative. I had the honour of heading the #STIP Secretariat at @IndiaDST. The ONOS aims to provide country-wide access to top quality scholarly international journals to nearly 1.8 crore students, faculty, researchers and scientists of all disciplines. As part of the ONOS scheme, a total of 30 major international journal publishers with nearly 13,000 e-journals published by them will be made accessible to more than 6,300 government Higher Education Institutions and central government R&D institutions through @INFLIBNET, an autonomous institution of @ugc_india.
