@mbga_uk tbh the dogs should have already been in a safe place during the planned visit the nurse or anyone else visiting for arranged work shouldn't have to worry about your dogs -- especially those in healthcare, who might need to touch and/or run some tests on the owner

Yesterday a nurse home visit was arranged to go to my elderly mothers home, while there visiting, the nurse arrived a Muslim woman who asked me to put my dogs away, as she did not like dogs. I told her, if you don't like dogs then leave & go send out a Nurse who does. Tough.

@pathofexile can console trade/buy from PC players yet ?? i played last league a lot but progress halted when the jewels i needed wouldn't drop and there wasn't any on the xbox market and then for some awakened gems, i had to pay 5-10x more than the PC market.. not a fun experience tbh

@Rahll Same, the reason I use twitch less these days is the damn pre roll ads. I haven’t seen a streamer I liked on a while I go to their stream and bam 1-2 minutes preroll ads. Is so stupid, I used before twitch turbo but that went up in price.

I actively mute ads and look away from the TV or my phone when they run, it's almost a sport for me. This is more than enough for me to abandon a platform completely, insane dystopian stuff here.

@lyndseyfifield the pre-owned that my parents would buy in the 90s, that were made in the 80s lasted a lot longer than what i have had to buy since i got my own place in 2003 we're lucky if we get more than 3 years from household appliances nothing is made to last and it's deliberate

Our deep freezer full of meat and food just went out. We bought it in 2021. I have friends coming to take whatever they can before it is all wasted. Called the 1800 number and a barely-understandable representative very politely told me we are out of warranty and there are no technicians who can fix it. My parents had the same deep freezer for 40 years. In the last 5 years we’ve replaced our <5 year old washing machine, two vacuums, garbage disposal… Our dishwasher probably needs replacing soon. I’m just so tired of this. I WANT to “buy once cry once” as I was raised—to invest in well made things built to last. Where the actual hell are they?

This is what happens when people "don't run ads" on Twitch. They're misinformed, there's NO option to turn off ads unless you refuse the affiliate agreement and don't monetize. But if you SCHEDULE them, 3 minutes per hour TURNS OFF preroll ads that launch when you open stream!!

@cherokeeowl It depends. My family has two people who have to get up at 2:30 am for work and 2 that work night shift, so they have to sleep during the day. I don't think it's about tolerance, I think it's more about respect for your neighbors. Have the party at a park or restaurant.
