@SaffronOlive Whoever had to come up with a new name had the deck so far stacked against them. Mythic Championships and Players Tours would have been perfectly good names for Magic events if they weren't replacing a perfectly good, already iconic tournament name. Completely futile exercise.

It will never not be funny to me that Wizards dropped the Pro Tour, went through like four different names over the course of a few years (MPL, Mythic Championships, Players Tour, etc) only to end up with the Pro Tour again in the end.

@KD8thebowz @scoutbuggy That's only cheating because Konami made it cheating though lol, there's nothing inherently wrong with doing this in other games and if the rules of Yu-Gi-Oh were different (or in prior tournament rulesets) there'd be nothing wrong with this either.

like if i ask someone what summon theyre on that could *bluff/insinuate* nib but if i say "careful youre on your 4th summon, im may nib you soon" thats just blatant misdirection

@Lol8ball The best use case I've ever seen for NFTs in games was a TCG, with the ability to trade/buy/sell.
Unfortunately it falls into the same trap as others, becoming plagued by bots made to farm cash.
Not too dissimilar to IRL TCGs actually.

Aside from the ugly apes, the main thing I'll remember from NFTs is how out of touch tech dudes who "grew out" of games tried to prove their utility in gaming.

@LRSerling It's not quite that there's no bluffing, and more that you can't explicitly make any private information public, and you can't lie or mislead about public information. So it's legal to bluff you just have a narrow confines in which it's possible without breaking some other rule.

Juat found out that in competitive irl yugioh bluffing is illegal?? A player got a 6 month tournament ban for putting tokens off to the side that his deck doesnt actually use in order to trick opponents into believing hes running different cards than he was
