@Puggysdad @StompinSteveB @retneysholocron Anakin was the one who did most of the work at Watto's and Watto's the one who made him Pod race (even if yes, Anakin loved it). Just because Watto treated him decently doesn't mean he was any less of a slave.

@shas_kais @TiredCadain777 It's also flavor text, not "truth"
Astra Militarum estimates should be taken with the same skepticism as the advice in the Uplifting Primer.
English

"Wrath & Glory is a roleplaying game, which means you’ll need a role — or character — to play. This chapter shows you how to make your character from scratch. You’ll be experiencing the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium through your character’s eyes. Your character might survive beyond the Astra Militarum’s estimated life expectancy of 15 hours and rise to the status of a hero, or be summarily executed due to a bureaucratic oversight, but whatever happens, the characters you and your friends play will be the stars of the story.
-Wrath and Glory
"OVER 15 HOURS"
"Those on the frontlines are unlikely to live for a single day, let alone long enough to be promoted. The feudal order of the Imperium ensures that climbing the shaky rungs of the social ladder is all but impossible."
-Wrath and Glory
"The battlefields of the 41st Millennium are dangerous places, and most Imperial Guardsmen are lucky to see the next fifteen hours, let alone the end of the battle."
-Wrath and Glory
It isn't a single source. Both GW and outhouse sources have a variation of the 15-hour bit.
So it's not limited to a single novel covering a single warzone.
English

I hate how the 15 hour life expectancy from one book has just been projected onto all of the guard. No, that is not the life span of every trooper in the galaxy. It was just in that one book.

@MisyDP You voted to put more attrazine in our water, you stupid fuckin bitch.
English

@Alyxandir @hidinghoney AI should be derided because it's unhelpful slop.
English

@hidinghoney So option C, then. You wanna deride ai but dont have anything meaningful to say without making something up
English

@theericjacobus Tbf, it's meant to show Han isn't quite a hero... YET.
English

When did it become taboo for the hero to preemptively strike? Was this another pre-1984 era thing?
The Sting@TheStingisBack
Star Wars is 49 today One of the biggest gripes with George Lucas tinkering with the original trilogy: removing Han shooting first, an action that instantly defines him as the scoundrel we love I tracked down the original cut, and here it is. Balance restored. Thanks, George.
English

@xsmilingyoongi Her account seems to be a Dunkin Donuts themed account.
How fuckin sad.
English

@softbluelizard @7ndrew Which has nothing to do with him holding a weapon he's never seen in his 18 years of life.
English

@7ndrew also keep in mind luke is the son of the dude who owned that saber and is himself force sensitive. mando, and also sabine from rebels who also deals with a similar thing (with the darksaber, weirdly enough), are just regular people.
English

I never liked the idea of a lightsaber being this super heavy battle mace kinda weapon if you have no training
An untrained farmer Luke was able to pick Anakin's saber up and swing it in one hand with ease
MAY@Mayfuel
i loved how heavy the lightsaber was here and how he struggles with it as someone with no formal training then i looked in thr replies and apparently star wars fans think that was a mistake
English

@Sompeetalay @HenryLouis21 @retneysholocron Yes. If they had to explain it, that's a good indication that that writer should be termed.
English

@UltimaReturn @retneysholocron I don't know why Star Wars fans are still shocked that books are just seen as another merchandise stream.
Lucas/Disney never did and never will give a fuck what is WRITTEN because you'll just buy the books anyway (for the gorgeous reference photos)
English

@retneysholocron And I love Pablo but his work has essentially always been to make squares fit together in circles lol
English

@retneysholocron "The Sith have always had red"
No, Darth Vader had a red blade in the OT and everyone after that kept writing it like the lasers in GI Joe.
English

@retneysholocron Why can't lightsabers just have different colors without bizarre DBZ explanations for the shit that doesn't matter?
English

@joonlee Even if the planned trilogy wasn't to everyone's liking (like it currently is) it would have been internally consistent and seen character growth that wasn't a weird stop-start or just stopped in the case of Finn.
English

@joonlee It would have been awesome if they had all three movies planned out so that they didn't come off as a disjointed mess.
English

Sequel trilogy could’ve been awesome if Disney didn’t panic over online blowback and let Reddit write Rise of Skywalker. Force Awakens and Last Jedi were both awesome in different ways.
Empire Strikes Back got massive blowback when it released. It’s viewed as the GOAT now.

@ssnekkie @MetaFeatsDC @LeesiBB He has toddler brain. He can't imagine things outside of a single dimension.

@MetaFeatsDC @LeesiBB there can be two villians at the sametime. vought is the multi-billion dollar company who should be held liable for the monster that was homelander. he literally raped and murdered people. he could of chosen a different path but he decided not to.

@TheLegendary_Lo @cptdankkk You apparently know what's coming and did... what?
Bought guns instead of stockpile food?
Continue to go to work?
English

@cptdankkk He’s not fooling anyone, first he builds a bunker, now learned to fly helicopters. He knows what’s coming. They all do.
English

Mark Zuckerberg says he learned to fly helicopters because he was tired of being driven everywhere
"You want your car to have almost as much horsepower as your helicopter"
"My security team convinced me for 10 years that I should just let them drive me places"
"Eventually I was just like, I can't do this. I need the freedom. I need to be able to drive myself"
"So I started learning how to fly helicopters... It's a good tool to have in the arsenal"

@publiusthegreat @NotChris404 @Giraffelimbs Because women shopping for vibrators don't cause problems for businesses around them.
English

@NotChris404 @Giraffelimbs Before the internet destroyed the business model, they were typically in older theatres in parts of town that had gone to shit. Same with places that sold pron. Oddly, if it's a sex shop that caters to women, it can set up shop between AutoZone and Dollar Tree.
English

Got curious one night and decided to investigate this place and it was earnestly one of the saddest porn watching experiences I think a human could have, I stayed for 5 minutes before I was too bummed out by the general vibe. I do think it should be open forever.
