The following includes #ADHD The recent discussions on X talking about #FND have made me revisit my thoughts about the ‘opportunistic’ nature of the Mental Health Industry and some related industries. Professional scammers work in many areas of Mental Health corporations, organisations and charities. They prey on the vulnerability of individuals who are looking for answers for their suffering. These ‘esteemed’ leaders are powerful influencers with personal agendas (often having numerous ‘roles’within numerous organisations) to develop and guide their ‘speciality’ and surreptitiously line their greedy pockets and inflate their award receiving egos. Adopted, brainwashed, groomed patients (some journalists) are used as influencers. They have swallowed the often mythical and unproven marketing babble of these organisations. The Mental Health Industry scam is one that can ruin and even end lives. As I said, there are years of incredible strategic genius behind some of these organisations which exploit our psychological weaknesses and profit from it. As a wise medic recently told me, “Since Freud, mental health is where con men go to start a movement.” Seems the practice is spreading.

Is anyone asking the obvious and fundamental question: on what evidential basis can you conclude that autism represents a natural category that is ‘neuro’- based and can be differentiated from other natural categories, whether disorder or difference?

And the role of medication? Was that considered? Why not? Approximately 16.9% of men and 47.9% of women in prison were found to be on some form of psychotropic medication (which includes antidepressants, antipsychotics, and sedatives)

@awaisaftab I wrote my book for Antony’s mother Bridget. We became close friends. She had heart failure but survived to see my book published. She passed away one month later understanding fully Antony’s suffering was not his fault. I miss her!

Autism expanded from a very rare diagnosis in those with significant LD into the spectrum that now dominates practice. There were no new scientific discoveries about the bodies and brains of those thought to have autism, just a new set of definitions.

Six years on, and Marion is still here, still trying to drag prescribers into the real world of iatrogenic harm. 🙌
