@BuhardeenImtiaz There will certainly be plenty of fluctuations along the way, but I think ASPI will reach: 15,000 in 2024 (as predicted here one year ago) 20,000 in 2025 25,000 in 2026 30,000 in 2027.

In my youth there was an Indian music duo called Colonial Cousins, and they had a song “Krishna” and the chorus goes something like, Come back as Jesus Come back and save the world We need a teacher You are the only one Come back as Rama Forgive us for what we've done Come back as Allah Come back as anyone Krishna nee begane baro (Krishna please come quickly) This should be the official South Asian Anthem.

Sunday opinion- 1. Sachin is the greatest master of batting in the world after Bradman. 2. Gavaskar is one of the best openers of the world. Playing without helmet he belted the fastest bowlers and taught India to beat pace and win 3. Bumrah is the fastest best of India and right now the best in the world 4. But the best ever for India is Virat Kohli - an exceptional sportsman with elan, purpose, personality & professionalism- who has made India win the maximum number of times. One of the best batters, captain and fielder in the world. Indian cricket zooms ahead.

@rangaba To be fair, @suhasinih did not mention either an Iran-chartered flight or the aircraft from Mattala that carried the coffins. You did.

Shocked @the_hindu botched it so badly. Iranian-chartered plane left Mattala -not Colombo - with just 84 Iranian bodies from Sri Lanka, zero passengers! Why parachute in an Indian hack for a Lanka yarn when @Meerasrini’s right there, the gold-standard foreign scribe? Ouch!

@DikshaKandpal8 @sardesairajdeep Was Rajdeep's question a setup by India Today? Laura is racist, obviously. Was she invited to give her a rap on the knuckles for past comments - and a clearer perspective of India today?

I have 100 differences with Rajdeep. But the way he brutally humiliated this beech Laura Loomer in India, rightly so, is truly commendable. Although the same anger must have shown by you @sardesairajdeep for inviting her in the first place by @IndiaToday, the organisation you are yourself associated with.

No civilian should die in wars. Our approach is that every life is as precious as our own. We jealously guard our non-aligned policy while ensuring that humanitarian values and the saving of lives remain our top priority. What the world urgently needs today is peace. There is a real risk of a severe global economic crisis, and entire societies are facing serious and complex challenges. We call upon all parties to demonstrate a firm commitment to peace. As a state, Sri Lanka stands ready to support every step toward ending hostilities. All our actions are aimed at saving lives and ensuring that humanity prevails.

🚨Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, in a special statement, announced that the Iranian naval vessel IRIS Bushehr experienced a mechanical failure near Sri Lanka’s maritime boundary. All 208 personnel on board were disembarked at the Port of Colombo, and the vessel will be moved to Trincomalee Port. The President stated that Sri Lanka will continue to maintain its neutral policy, rejected claims that 300 children were on board as false, and emphasized that Sri Lanka’s land, sea, and airspace will not be used by any country in a way that supports or harms another nation. 📷File image #AnuraKumaraDissanayake #IRISBushehr #IndianOcean

Sri Lanka remains steadfastly committed to maritime safety and the prevention of any further escalation in the Indian Ocean region. As confirmed by Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa in Parliament today, the Iranian naval vessel IRINS Bushehr is currently positioned in international waters within our Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), near the maritime boundary—but crucially, not in Sri Lanka’s territorial waters. The Government of Sri Lanka, in close coordination with the Ministry of Defence and relevant authorities, is extending maximum possible assistance to ensure the safety and well-being of all lives onboard. Humanitarian considerations remain our top priority. All lives matter, regardless of nationality or circumstance. We stand united in our dedication to protecting human life, upholding regional peace, and safeguarding our waters responsibly. We are proud of our island nation and its principled stance in times of crisis. 🇱🇰🙏🏽🤍 #SriLanka #MaritimeSafety #HumanitarianAid #IndianOcean

“The vessel waited for 11 hours about 40 nautical miles off Galle port for permission from the Sri Lankan government to berth at Galle port, as it had difficulties returning to Iran due to the conflict situation. Why didn’t the government allow permission for such a long time?” SJB MP Mujeebur Rahman questioned in Parliament regarding the IRIS Dena, which was attacked by a US submarine on Wednesday.
