@ShopprsDrugMart Can you please explain to me why my 79-yo palliative mom is being forced to pay for OHIP-covered cancer meds? "Your doc filled this out wrong, and since you didn't notice within 7 days, we don't have to refund your dying mom's $840."

Is it your policy to financially punish patients for mistakes their doctors make?

Best part is that the doc called the pharmacist who agreed to refund the money when on the phone with HIM, but when we went in she refused us, citing this disturbing policy.

@RoadsportHonda If you hadn't gotten that ticket, we'd never have known you continued to drive the trade-in under our plates. Does this happen a lot at your dealership? We traded it to you on March 31 and the ticket was incurred in May.

@RoadsportHonda Did you know we called you about how you failed to remove the plates/registration from our trade in, then you parked it at 114 Sinnott Road and incurred a parking ticket under our name? Did you know we are still waiting for resolution?

@Audraxys I'll let you know when I think you've aged out of your passive role as a factor in my decision-making 😂

@Audraxys I use you as my litmus at work. If they look younger than you, I card. If they look older, I don't.

@DrSamiSchalk Dealing w the cog dissonance that comes from intellectually grokking things you can’t yet *feel* is its own endeavour, one we rarely discuss. ❤️

@SahilBloom Run this experiment at a community college where students don’t have family networks in blue chip companies. Social capital and the willingness to exploit it is at least part of what this shows.

In 2009, Stanford business professor Tina Seelig split her class into groups and issued a challenge: Each group had $5 and 2 hours to make the highest return on the money. At the end, they'd give a short presentation on their strategy. What happened next was fascinating:

@Sflecce If you understood the work your grandfather and father did, you’d not be shilling for the likes of Ford right now.

This is the inside voice of the "progressive left" coming out — as they talk down tradespeople. My grandfather and father drove a truck for decades. They were proud of their work. They had dignity in employment that supported their families. Opposed to dependence on the state. We modelled Ontario's program after Germany — which is the global leader in experiential learning. No wonder the NDP & Liberals lost the vote of workers and tradespeople. It's a shameful attitude that only amplifies old stereotypes about these jobs.

Misogyny offers the cis man a guilt-free sense of entitlement, and all they need to do to enjoy it is to believe it is deserved.

We must confront the issue of cell phone distractions & vaping once & for all. With over 80% of Ontario residents strongly supporting enhanced education & enforcement, our government will introduce a comprehensive plan to restore focus & safety in the classroom. SHARE if you agree.

"Deport" This is a paid for trend. Some far right folks want hatred and fear to grip us. Dark money supports any and all groups that divide us. Racism, bigotry and fear mongering is our enemy. Not each other. #IStandWithTrudeau 🍁

@alitlstrawberry I’ve had one psychiatrist or another FOR OVER 20 YEARS before I could convince the most recent one to just entertain the idea I might have ADHD. She did, and I’ve now enjoyed functional life for 5 years. I’m 49. I was agoraphobic for 12 years.

every time i see healthcare providers making jokes about “patients who have too much medical knowledge and diagnose themselves with rare diseases,” i think of two different patients in a clinic where i used to work. each of them were convinced they had rare autoimmune diseases.

@David_Moscrop I went from being informed and motivated, voting no matter what, to complete disillusionment, at a speed that wrenched my neck. I dragged my elderly mom out to vote more times than I’m proud of. Now I want to let it burn until complacent folk are ready to march in the street.

Never in my life have I been more convinced we’d be better off getting rid of elections and choosing people at random to fill the House of Commons instead.
