A dev got so frustrated watching his AI agent write 500 lines for a 5-line problem that he built a fix.
He called it Ponytail. Named after the guy every team has - long ponytail, oval glasses, been there longer than the version control. You show him fifty lines; he looks at them, says nothing, and replaces them with one.
Now your agent does the same. Before writing anything, it looks for a reason not to.
80-94% less code. 47-77% cheaper. 3-6x faster.
The best code is the code you never wrote.

Something beneath the cave is still awake.
The pillar doesn’t just sink into the ground. It feels pulled down, like the stone remembers a place it was never meant to leave.
Small interactions in GlitchMarked are becoming little warnings.
The world is not broken by accident.
(Pillar is only 90% done, but I cheated a bit for the video😜)

Something moved deeper in the cave.
The second section of GlitchMarked is starting to feel less like a tutorial… and more like the world is quietly testing you.
Not everything in the cave wants to stay dead.

The 2nd section of the tutorial cave is in progress. What starts as a simple path down is already becoming something else. Something old. Something wrong. Something waiting. If dark cursed fantasy is your thing, wishlist GlitchMarked. (Steam Link is in my bio) #gamedev #indiedev #GlitchMarked #pixelart

I just started building something that I think might be cool. However, I'm going to document the process of using the cutting-edge tools to make it and perhaps someone might need to learn from whatever mistakes I make along the way in order to save themselves time and money. To anyone who's reading this: Take your personal notes in markdown using something like Obsidian, and utilize mermaid charts!! Even that little habit can change your vibecodin' life!

@piyush784066 My favorite was Python, and that's because it was Maya's official rigging language after MelScript fell out of favor.

@asaio87 That wildly depends on the app, but 12 months and marketing it in general seems like a better idea for success. This way, you understand what your audience needs from your product through interacting with them.

I talked to a vibe coder guy on Reddit today about his app.
He launched his 10th app this year, but no customers.
He spent millions of tokens on Claude Code
He says he enjoys building the apps so much because he is using AI and can build so much faster.
But when he needs to get users, feel discouraged and does the next best thing, starts another app, only to end up in the same place.
What should he do ?
Keep building until he hits a viral app that markets itself?
or just continue with one app for 12 months and spend 9 hrs a day marketing it

@HappeaStudio Ooh, the darker background on the waterfall level was a great move too. Everything glows against it!!

@bytecrunchdev That's how to do it! More people need to dip out every once in a while to keep relationships/livelihood alive and refresh the brain since development can be an absolute time and attention sink. Take all the time you need and we look forward to your return! :)

Big ol' Text update:
I've decided that I'm going to be transparent about every part of making this game including my adventures with Ai tools, my GDD (soon), the gaps life will give me between updates, and my idiot bonehead moves along the way. This way, perhaps sometime can fix things with their own development faster if they've read it from me first. I actually find it to be cathartic to connect with other builders. A theme in Ryker's Blade is found friendship, after all.
Speaking of which, "Ryker's Blade"...my game name is running into issues and I need to change it again! Thankfully, I'm about one week into the game so it isn't a gigantic suck fest. This is just part of the development process (fairly constant name changes in the beginning). I actually like the ring of it more anyway, and it makes me want to make the game more punchy. It makes sense because in this game, the powers come from Ryker's Paladin sword. Hope I can keep this one.
Another note: I have an extensive storyline of this world in my head already. I wrote the entire GDD, and after I did, I realized that I want Ryker's Blade to be a little more slash n burn and a little less about rumination and self-doubt. It's still going to be there, but less of the focus. My original plan was for the mini-bosses at the end of their levels to lament about their insecurities while Ryker was fighting them, but now that seems astronomically cringe in the middle of fighting, so I might make cutscenes instead.
Pictured here: Ryker's generation in Meshy last night before I fixed his tail, hands (count those fingers lol), and put him into a proper A-pose with fists for rigging. I ended up rigging and animating this model in there. I'll have a more extensive post about Meshy and how to use it, in the near future!
If you made it this far, you rock.

I created a quick and easy pipeline to convert images into 3D models, rig and animated with AI text to animation (link in comments) #gamedev #aigamedev
