Slovak climber Lenka Poláčková 🇸🇰 successfully summited Mt Lhotse (8,516 m), the world’s fourth-highest mountain, on 23.05.2026, 09:55 NPT, without the use of supplementary oxygen and without personal Sherpa or high-altitude porter support. In an emotional statement after the climb, Poláčková shared that although she stood alone on the summit, the ascent belonged to both her and her husband and climbing partner, Jan “Honza” Poláček. Battling a persistent respiratory illness for nearly three weeks, Jan was forced to turn back around 200 meters below the summit. However, Lenka described his unsupported climb to ~7,700 m without oxygen as “far greater than the symbolic cherry on top.” The pair also dedicated the ascent to the memory of climbers connected to Everest and Lhotse who remain forever tied to these mountains: Jozef Just, Peťo Božík, Dušan Becík, and Jaro Jaško. When I look at the deep dents and damage their little bodies left on this high-end luxury SUV, it absolutely crushes my heart. The severity of those dents should give you an idea of the insane speed this car was coming at them at. It makes me pray they didn’t have time to feel any pain.

This made me remember one time Police caught me driving without a licence. He wanted me to start writing a statement and even wanted to search my phone. I begged him to just collect 10k from me, which if I remember correctly was even around the actual offence amount, because I didn’t want to call my dad. He has always been scared of something like this happening and I knew he would never let me take the car out again 😂 but the officer refused, thinking he had caught a big fish. I refused to write any statement or open my phone because IG already said they don’t have access to it 😂 They eventually put me inside the cell, so I called my dad. In the end, they released me free of charge and my dad just gave them 3k to buy Pepsi 😂 Later, he started lecturing me, saying I’m “omo lile” and that I should appreciate having a good father. (Pele, na you go tell me 😂) Instead of him to collect my owo oniyo owo oniru he carry me enter station lock me for cell and he won’t get nothing from the 3k I even pitied the guys that were inside the cell with me 😂 They all met me there and somehow I became their oga. While waiting for my dad, I started asking them one after the other what happened, and everybody started narrating their problems to me like I was the officer in charge 😂😂😂 One guy said he only wanted to go and eat before they grabbed him. They didn’t even ask him anything, they just carried him straight into the cell. Then there were these two brothers they didn’t even search them, they just bundled both of them inside. The funniest part was that one of them still had marijuana in his pocket 😂 guy was already sweating and shaking because he didn’t want to bring it out. I was like, “How far bro, throw it away through the window 😂 see as you dey do like Aseh.” Another guy was using all his energy to explain what happened to him because he was angry, saying he wasn’t even the one at fault 😂 My first and hopefully last time inside a police station and my first real encounter with police. Normally, I always try to avoid anything that could bring police problems, so the whole experience just felt crazy 😂

Road Safety stopped me this morning. I’m usually bold whenever they stop me but this morning, I opened my trunk to find that my fire extinguisher was nowhere to be found. These guys started screaming and saying they’d impound my car if I don’t settle them with 50k. You could buy a house with the priceless look on their faces when I told them it was a 3k offence and that they should write the ticket. 😂
