@ConcaveMMT @rossiadam These differences are empirically true, to what extent is the issue. There's typically a grain of truth with every stereotype.
"Inherent rejection of their...automatically wrong"
This is nonsense of course. Both sides are partisan.
English

@rossiadam It's a universal problem. In many parts of the urbanized world the view is those still living rural areas are stupid and backwards.
Too "conservative" not in tune with "modernity", so there's this inherent rejection of their political choices as being automatically wrong
English

@LoganMohtashami It’s about RoW
Iran wants RoW to pressure US into concessions
US wants RoW to pressure Iran into concessions
English

@boazweinstein Because you're really bad at math, naive, easily molded by your confirmation bias newsfeed.
8 people hanged. Atrocious.
But I raise you almost 100k in a real modern day attempt at scorched earth genocide. No semblance of humanity. Genocide.
"Contradiction"?
F*cking IDIOT.
English

Despite all the cynicism we accumulate living in this world, I may never get over the contradiction between the far left’s belief in themselves as kind humanists and their catastrophic moral failure on Iran’s apartheid against women. I take special interest in this topic as the father of half-Iranian daughters.
Eyal Yakoby@EYakoby
BREAKING: The Islamic Republic is preparing to hang eight women. Not a word from the international community or so-called human rights organizations.

@bryan_johnson @KernelCo eastern philosophy figured this out a long time ago
English

> Self and other is a toggle switch in the brain
> 5-MeO-DMT flipped mine
> 100% decoupling from self
> 150% tightening with others
> Others felt like me for four weeks
> First-in-human data
Makes you wonder if "me" and "I" are illusions.
Measured with @KernelCo

English

@HealthRanger if robots build robots there is certainly an environment where cost (as in something you would pay) gets removed completely (the "payers" would be the robots)
of course the ai tech billionaires and boardrooms aren't going to allow this but the concept is sound
English

If you think AI robots will plunge the cost of everything to zero, you are confusing LABOR with MATTER.
Even if robots worked for free, the raw materials they manipulate -- the steel, concrete, silicon, lithium, and energy -- are governed by the unbreakable law of scarcity. These resources require extraction, refinement, and vast amounts of energy, all of which incur real-world costs.
The 'free everything' narrative is a child's fantasy that ignores physics and economics. As basic economics teaches, scarcity is a universal constraint. Energy, the master resource, is not free. As studies on electricity demand show, consumption is tightly bound to economic output and real resource inputs. You cannot robot your way out of the need for hydrocarbons, rare earth metals, and the land to produce food.
This delusion is a convenient smokescreen for the elites who wish to control those very resources while the populace dreams of digital handouts.
English

@goodalexander who tf noticing differences between models
how much robots paying you
English

@Aidan_Regan grammar or argument isn't coherent here
regardless, christianity created narrative that what you do in this world (glory of rome) didn't matter. christianity innately creates a highly individualistic mindset and society (as opposed to highly community driven eastern philosophies)
English

@TXMCtrades this is likely public school data. public is vastly union, so higher wages (~2x). ive been in a few private school faculty rooms and complaining about money is kinda their thing, despite massive tuition costs
English

Is the teacher making $125K per year
in the room with us now?

Matt | The Mini-Retirement Maximalist@MiniRetireMatt
The teacher making $125k per year, with 3 months of PTO, and 35 hour work weeks Is better off than... The attorney making $250k per year, with 1-2 weeks of PTO, and 60+ hour work weeks It's not even close
English

@daniel_dsj2110 this is what people don't understand about US wages, it truly doesn't matter at all whatsoever in the slightest if your cost of living is higher in the US
income, gdp, w/e. doesn't matter at all for you
cost of living is god
English

“She earns under $40,000 a year as a freelance educator specializing in art, mostly working with children. She has a housekeeper who comes twice a week, takes cabs almost every day and eats at local restaurants regularly.”: nytimes.com/2026/04/19/bus…

English

@aeberman12 because economically inept and fantastically out of touch billionaires have nothing better to do and people are obsessed with exploring space with fossil fuels
we are retarded monkeys
English

Space is cool but an expensive stunt
The Apollo mission cost $1 billion per day per astronaut
Asteroid dirt costs $132,000 per ounce
Why don't we colonize the ocean or the Himalayas?
They're a lot easier & cheaper than Mars.

English

@LoganDobson What a retarded thing to say.
Do you think that an airline pilot is going to cure it? Who the f*ck else is going to do healthcare stuff besides the healthcare industry.
We pay 2x healthcare costs dipshit.
English

They don’t want you to know this but the “we” who cured cystic fibrosis is… that’s right, Big Pharma
Matt Stoller@matthewstoller
A few years ago we basically cured cystic fibrosis.
English

@CrusadeInvest @LukeGromen misunderstanding me
this entire thing is inept
and it's created by violent retards and rationalizers like you
trillions (real tangible quality of life money) we continue to waste on creating a more antagonistic middle east. mission accomplished: increase in net death/hostility
English

@Aqloe5 @LukeGromen So predictable... as I called. Unstable means you're more likely inept actually.

Iran willing to attend second round of talks with US, Pakistan officials say: AP
English

@gpooley @Marian_L_Tupy @jmhorp There's no necessary tradeoff you insist on, or the naive false dichotomy you believe in. Nordics figured this out a long time ago.
English

@gpooley @Marian_L_Tupy @jmhorp "Putting everyone on abundance curves" is a meaningless statement. Cost of living has been literally declining in the US.
And don't confuse technology with economics. A bigger TV is not a better quality of life.
What's amazing is quality of life DECLINING even with technology.
English

@CrusadeInvest @LukeGromen the correlation is in the same region less than 2 decades ago you absolute muppet. you could not ask for a better correlation
you can bomb them, you can invade, it's not gonna do anything
the only one winning in these is military industrial complex
better unstable than inept
English

@Aqloe5 @LukeGromen You sound unstable. I have no desire for US to be involved in this war. I’m simply stating negotiations haven’t ceased as the original post suggests. Touch some grass!
English

@CrusadeInvest @LukeGromen it is shocking the amount of dipsh*ts like you that want to do the middle east thing all over again
wasted literally trillions of dollars. money means nothing. regime change means nothing.
just arguing forever because you're biased into actual retards
English

@LukeGromen You’re suggesting negotiations have in fact ceased. And your correlation is a war 15 years ago, by a different administration, in a different country?
English

@LukeGromen that's just a sliver
ev's don't change the math much at all
but interesting
as long as china controls manuf. it will be able to control oil just like US controlling saudis when it wasn't energy exporter
English

American strategists: “We are going to cut off China’s oil, thereby wrecking China.”
China’s response? Geopolitical/oil politics version of Good Will Hunting: “Give us the wrench…because f*ck them. That’s why.”
Fidelis Lobo@FidelisLobo
They are really moving fast on this. Chinese trucks could go 100% electric, halving road transport oil use: industry - sc.mp/qhbys
English

@DustinWalper waste absolutely massive amounts of money on penis measuring contests by soon to be trillionaires during the greatest wealth inequality in recorded history, which doesn't affect living standards for anyone?
congrats!
