Grateful to witness the panels as well - the way these artists continue to execute in their craft, experiment and develop is a privilege to witness

@patrickc I teach at the Architecture School at The Cooper Union. Happy to give you a tour of the Chrysler Building which later briefly became the tallest building in New York and still holds mantle as the definitive art deco masterpiece.

I was walking to the office in New York this morning and noticed an arrestingly beautiful high-rise above me. Turns out it was the Woolworth building, which I'm a bit embarrassed to say I'd never noticed or heard of before. It was the tallest building in the world for 16 years (until 1929). Construction took 20 months. The architect was apparently inspired by European cathedrals; one clergyman called it "the cathedral of commerce". It contained its own power plant. It's adorned with the full Gothic package: gargoyles, spandrels, mullions, pilasters, corbels. It contained the world's fastest elevators when it opened. The world is a museum of passion projects.

Heft
Heft@heft_gallery·
Today, Tender becomes Heft New name, same focus on meaningful, systems-based art. After three years of collaborating with artists to release generative and systems-based art under Tender, we’re entering a new chapter – opening a new physical space soon in New York’s Lower East Side, with a new name: Heft. This is a continuation of the same practice – curating ambitious solo projects and unified exhibitions, releasing works by visionary artists and helping advance the generative art movement with care and conviction. This mission remains, our commitment deepens, and our reach expands – all under a name that better reflects our program. Why Heft? Heft is my middle name. This decision reflects the deeply personal nature of the collaborative practice I’ve built with artists – as an artist myself. The name is also my maternal grandfather’s surname, and in his native German, heft means sketchbook or notebook – a vessel for ideation, experimentation, information, and creative evolution. He used his heft as a mathematician’s notebook; I use mine with artists, from concept to presentation. Of course, heft also represents weight – of thought, of matter, of impact. It speaks to the seriousness of our program and our belief that the artists we work with are shaping one of the most meaningful art movements of our time. For Tender, this means: • Our existing social channels will continue under the new name, with more context and previews for upcoming shows. • The TENDER Discord keeps its name and focus as a safe, thoughtful space for dialogue across all platforms and galleries in the generative art ecosystem – with new initiatives coming soon to grow the community. • The TENDER Pass continues as-is, with access to Discord and occasional collector benefits. • A new website will launch soon, evolving the presentation from Tender's site with a refined structure and tone. From the growing team at Heft – thank you for being part of what this is becoming. — Adam Heft Berninger

Meet the award-winning duo called Aranda\Lasch @arandalasch. Benjamin Aranda and Chris Lasch are the generative artists behind Enlace, our collection of Parisian bistro chairs. They are also formally trained architects. How did they get their start? 🧵👇
