"Let destiny die" is such a weird mindset to have in my opinion. People still like it and want reasons to continue playing it. Just because you dont vibe with it anymore doesn't mean that other people have to move on from it too. Liking a game shouldn't have an expiration date.

I agree with you on that. However, I think there is the FOMO factor where when you watch your friends and/or strangers having fun on or talking about the cool rides, it inspires you to purchase a ticket for them. I think being able to have, what I consider, a core experience with everyone and then being able to decide if you want to invest further makes it worthy of the "Free to Play" title. Overall, I think "Free to Play" is acceptable when you get to sample important things. In Destiny's case, I consider that the Gunplay, General Mission Objectives, Cooperative Gameplay, and access to satisfactory resources such that paywalled content is clearable the moment it is unlocked. I would still agree though that "Free to Start" is a more applicable label. However, I don't consider it being called "Free to Play" a misclassification.

There are living breathing human beings that believe Destiny 2 is a legitimate free to play game and call it as such
