Sunday early am is planning for the upcoming week. I review deals, prospecting, team and news. With that said, I have systems in place that dictate my targets, activities and goals and my Sunday process keeps all this on track. (business and personal) The Army taught me processes and repetition (lots of repetition 🤣) lead to positive outcomes.

I decided to re-read 10x is easier than 2x again this weekend. I needed a reminder and I knew where to find it.

Start watching them close to dusk. They all go back underground before in turns dark. Follow them back to the nest. Exterminators now use a powder that covers their wings so they can't fly and they die. When i grew up, my dad would pour about 2 cups of gas in a bucket and turn it over on the nest. The fumes killed them I have to carry a freaking EpiPen so i have become very aware of them.

@BowTiedBroke Any suggestions if you can’t figure out where the nest is? They are all over our property and we can’t figure it out

Two videos: My “Blast the crap out of ‘em” video & my more tame method of killing yellow jackets. Generally I’ll use a product called Wasp Freeze to stop the ones coming in & out from how many ever holes they’ve created. But that won’t get rid of a monster sized nest. I’ll then blast them with my Stihl SR200 blower with a product of choice. This is the first video I’ve done showing the capability of the SR200. It’s an amazing device if you are fighting ticks, mosquitos, spiders, whatever. It really helps lift up the leaf or bush and costs all sides (the underside is really where most mosquitoes 🦟 hang out waiting on you). I recommend doing any treatment at dusk or dark as Yellow Jackets are much less active in the evening hours. Second video method: Get some glue boards, throw a piece of rotisserie chicken in center, catch one and they’ll release an alert pheromone and the entire nest will come out and get stuck. Cool to watch them try to sting the glue board while stuck over and over and get more stuck. There are many other “homemade” methods to get rid of them, gas, gas fumes, etc. I DO NOT recommend those. Being in the pest control biz for 25+ yrs, I’ve seen homeowners do this, not get the entire nest and the colony recovers and comes back 10X more aggressive. Use “Uncle Jonny and Aunt Sue’s” method at your own risk. Do they work? Sure they can, but you don’t get them all, that colony comes back with a vengeance.

Took the day to spend with my dad. Took him to a Doctors appointment and then to brunch. Love the look on his face and he didn’t know I took the picture.

I moved to Tax Hive. So far I'm very impressed. I have found good tax professionals over the years but never really found someone that i resonated with. They were either good at taxes or at planning. Not both. It reminded me of how we specialize. TH has given me both. I'm still learning with them and will most likely move my bookkeeping to them later this year. You have a lead tax person and a lead planner. Then they use teams. I will keep you up to date on how it goes but so far I'm impressed.

@kevindmonaghan @AmericanAir Yeah, I’m driving . It would take less time to drive than it would be to drive to the airport, park and ride in, go through TSA. Wait at the gate fly and then wait for a car.

A local law firm in our area is being investigated and being sued. They have frozen the trust account but it was too late form many and one person lost over 1 million . It makes you wonder who you can trust . This was a well respected firm in the real estate community.

I just spoke to one yesterday. He called me after finding me on a Vet owned business post. He wasn’t going to have an attorney review before signing (he is now). He didn’t have any plan or costs on construction costs. And the list went on. He is retiring from the air force and decided he wanted his own business. The protector trait kicked in 🫡

Franchisees, Get a minimum Of 3 bids on your construction- at least 3 - preferably 4-5. Your franchisor should tell you to do this. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

@bethanyjbabcock I say it depends. I have met a few that have hit their max capacity and need somone to help them scale to the next level. They don’t need an extra headcount but need someone that can guide them through to that next level. That’s where these roles come in.

I have a bad attitude towards consultants and fractional C Suites. I'm not sure if that needs to change. My opinion is that for small businesses, we really don't need another person telling us what we should do, we need someone to pick up a shovel and get to work and do it. Do I need to change my stance?

Went to a concert last night and just stayed uptown . The last couple of events we attended, we have done this because there is nothing worse than going to see something special and then sitting in traffic for hours. Time is our most valuable asset and that applies to your personal life as much as your business.
