IPO hotness check: we received 0.1% of our asked-for $CBRS allocation (or I suppose 0.2% at indicated open prices)

On the one hand, there but for the grace of God go I, let’s not speak ill of the departed. On the other hand, I’m simply built different and would never lose money for my beloved clients (whom I care for more than my own children), so skill issue.

Said it for a while, but the aesthetic bias of Vicario's reflex saves convinced people he's an elite shot-stopper. In reality, he struggles with distance shots, is inconsistent in parrying, a poor distributor, & horrific dealing with set pieces. Kinsky is & has been better.

@sportsrapport You realize there’s this thing called “investing” right. You could make 30K a month with 10 million by doing nothing but having it in an Amex Savings account

1) $10 million is a lot of money, not pretending like it’s not 2) if I had that right now I don’t think I could comfortably retire on account of having 3 kids 7 and under and if I had that much money and idle time I’m not sure it would last me the rest of my life, esp given the recent rate of inflation

This is the type of person you have to be to get hired at Citadel Ken Griffin once asked a Harvard graduate with a Citadel offer letter what he would do if he had $10 million in his bank account The young man replied that he would quit his job to travel and climb the highest peaks around the world Ken Griffin responded by saying that Citadel was not the right fit for him

@TheStalwart Your bigger issue is that StubHub tickets are generally fake in Europe. Would say 80% chance you don’t get in. Biggest issue is that you’re a gooner.

@GZuckerman Do you mean before being drafted? Schlitter was top 50 on Fangraphs before he debuted.

MLB scouting is more thorough than ever. They pore hundreds of millions into it, searching high and low for talent. Experts analyze minor leaguers to death, update lists of top prospects. Yet, Ben Rice and Cam Schlitter were never considered top prospects, never made any of those lists. They may be the best hitter and pitcher in the game this season. Pretty inefficient market it seems.

@pokeefe1 @FootyScran @ACSparta_CZ It’s not sold or eaten as a traditional sandwich. Czechs eat it open face or the bread separately. Also, you always get your own mustard/ketchup/spicy sauce after getting the sausage. It’s actually pretty good.

Subway Rules: -Don’t walk up or down left side of station exit / entrance steps -Left lanes of all escalators are for climbers only -Don’t have your phone out and head down when moving through subway terminal -Never enter, walk through, or ride subway with open umbrella -Wait for passengers to get off subway by standing to the sides of the door, creating a clear exit path, before entering -Take off your backpack or bag and hold it between your legs to make more space for everyone else … if your bag is too “nice” don’t take subway -Walk all the way into subway car, never block unused space -Offer your seat to the elderly and disabled at minimum -Do not make noise of any kind during commuter hours - collective silence is a shared code from the grinders to mitigate stress -Don’t eat, shit, or piss on subway -PDA on the subway is visual assault and generally bad for morale I find myself getting into daily confrontations on my commutes … it is normally over one of these what am I missing?

@eric_hontz I agree that they’d go all out, but where would everyone stay & how would they get to/from Tuscaloosa? 60k+ of the college football crowd sleeps at home after the game ends. Plus, foreign fans going to each of their country’s matches need to be able to travel to the next match.

@pbsportswriter IMO, the problem isn’t the factoring companies, it’s the financial budgeting and mismanagement of executives at football clubs.

@pbsportswriter Unfortunately, it’s a very common, acceptable form of financing across many, many global businesses. From a cash flow perspective, you’d rather 90% of the money now for X, instead of 100% in six months, etc. It’s a less onerous form of loan vs financing the purchase of X today.

@pbsportswriter It’s very difficult for a football club to get in trouble with this since there’s only a few, high notoriety sources of revenue to pledge, versus recent double pledging examples: First Brands (car parts and inter company revenue pledges) and MFS (short term property loans)

@pbsportswriter Ex, if spurs want to buy Conor Gallagher on Jan 20th and Atletico want the €50m fee immediately, it’s easier to pledge €55m of the CL money that’ll come in March to Macquarie vs getting a €50m loan from Bank of America that’ll require updated financials & take wk for approval
