Protesters stormed the offices of Senator Susan Collins in Biddeford, Maine, after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents fatally shot in a man in the town that morning. Hundreds of people first rallied at at Mechanics Park, chanting and holding signs with anti-ICE slogans including “Abolish ICE Now,” “Stop the Murder,” and “Melt ICE.” A separate group then peeled off and marched towards Collins’ office. Footage from local news outlet Biddeford Buzz shows protesters inside the building’s entrance, chanting “vote her out” and banging on the doors to Collins’ office. Several police officers then arrived and stood in front of the office doors, other videos showed. Collins, the Republican chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, is running for re-election in the general election on November 3. In April, Collins voted to pass $70 billion in new funding for federal immigration enforcement. @BiddefordBuzz
