Why not a ballistic missile of range 500-800 km ???? It will be far more cheaper . Brahmos is a Great product Undoubtedly amongst the best Cruise missile Or the best supersonic cruise missile in the world but it's just not feasible to use it for small ranges and large numbers

The DLI scheme was quite a success, especially considering the peanut-level funding it received under ISM 1.0 An absurd idea that I have in my mind is that , Government should build a Fab under DLI specially to fabricate chips designed by the fabless startups under the Scheme .

As we progress towards our Flight Ready Engine (FRE) & HOPE Vehicle development program, we have successfully executed the BSE-II engine hot fire test campaign. This phase focused on validating key reusability technologies - including injection, throttling, and ignition operating at ~12 bar chamber pressure and temperatures exceeding 2200°C. Building on our BSE-I campaign, where we demonstrated India’s first Pintle Injection mechanism, BSE-II takes us a step further with stable combustion under blow-down feed conditions, refined impingement mixing architecture, and expected plume behavior, including Mach diamond formation during firing. The entire testing stack - engine, test bench, control systems, test instrumentation and the DAQ system — has been fully designed and developed in-house by Team Abyom SpaceTech & Defence. This campaign successfully validated combustion stability, chamber pressure targets, and overall integrated system performance. Each step like this strengthens not just our propulsion systems, but also the ecosystem required to build reliable, reusable launch capabilities - contributing to India’s growing strength in Space and Defence.
