@TheAliceSmith The woke position is that a genocidal rape colony that constantly murders kids is worse than a country which is not as feminist as we would like.

This is the most cringe and gay cowboy larping I have ever seen. It makes Brokeback Mountain seem like Tombstone in comparison.

@dollarsanddata That’s all fine and correct but someone at the top 5% is not in the “middle” regardless of how far above them someone else is

The upper middle class and middle class have very similar lifestyles. The upper middle class may have a nicer car or a bigger house, but they don’t have a chauffeur. They may buy slightly nicer food or upgrade to business class more often, but they don’t fly private. The lifestyle of the actual rich is as foreign to both.

Someone earning $500k per year with $1M-$10M in assets is "upper" middle class in NYC (so still middle class). They don't fly private. They have a job. This is obvious once you understand The Wealth Ladder. The true rich are those in Level 5 ($10M-$100M) and above.
Musa al-Gharbi@Musa_alGharbi

If there is a genre I truly hate in the @nytimes it's the frequent pieces featuring folks with multi-millions in assets and multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars in yearly household income describing themselves as middle class, and being credulously understood that way, while professionals with healthy six figure incomes engage in poverty larping because, of course, if these other people are "middle class" then they must themselves be "poor" or "working class" or "just getting by." @SaraEisen Since when did you develop the ability to scrutinize the incentives of people making claims? You certainly don’t take that angle with the trump bros you’re constantly apologetic for

@kaiser_doge @MKnowlesShow No- republicans often leave out key context or make routine items seem sinister in an effort to push their misplaced view. Asking follow ups for context reveals their deception (do illegal immigrants receive welfare? NO. Their CITIZEN minor children do). Not as compelling tho!

She’s doing that classic thing where she just keeps stacking questions, not to understand, but to wear him down. The goal is that eventually he won’t have a perfectly polished answer on the spot, and then she jumps in with a “gotcha” and acts like that proves him wrong. It’s less about having a real discussion and more about setting up a trap where anything short of instant, perfectly sourced answers gets treated as a loss, this is a picture-perfect leftist play.

'“I think we’re middle class for this area,” Mr. O’Leary said.' In fact, per a link in the article: median household income in 2023 for their neighborhood was $155,710; for the city as a whole, $79,480. Why do so many people live in fantasyworlds abt their own wealth?

I’m really sick of this shit. I’m a total Trump supporter. Never voted against him. For 6 months now, markets get fucking destroyed on every attempt to rally 1%. I understand that Iran was and is a threat and we need to do what’s right for humanity by neutralizing that threat, but I’m sick of this insider shit. Some large cohort of insiders knew for 6 months what was coming and sold every single fucking rally since. This is not a market, it’s a 3rd world casino and I’m really fucking tired of it. My vote will not EVER be for a democrat. I don’t believe in open borders to criminals, I don’t believe in shoving the LGBTQ flag and transgender’ism in anyone’s faces and I don’t believe in crooked politicians that enrich themselves through fraud LLC’s and NGO’s, but I also don’t believe in is this bullshit that I’m witnessing in markets. Everything is a complete fucking fraud and maybe @TuckerCarlson has a point. The American way has lost itself. There are frauds literally everywhere on both sides of the isle and it’s destroying this country inside out.

The world is ending because of private credit firms are enforcing their quarterly limits instead of mass selling unitranche debt below par. I think one of the takeaways out of this "credit cycle" is a decent amount of folks shouldn't hold private credit thru cycles.

Ares is capping withdrawals of its $10.7B Strategic Income Fund. The fund is enforcing its 5% quarterly limit after investors tried to pull out of 11.6% of shares.

@BlueRepublik 1. Biden did right thing for macro level as you stated. 2. Voters don't know macro and cares more about micro. Biden failed the micro level, such as these policies. Voters wants Universal Childcare, Maternity Leave, increase Minimum Wage, Federal Vacation, etc. Dem failed it

@Zacbunchanumbrs @BlueRepublik 1- he did 2- when are people responsible for their own of understanding basic aspects of life? They sure were confident about economic issues before?? 3- inflation was high but otherwise the economy was strong. What do you think caused the inflation?

@BlueRepublik When you trace the stimulus that contributed to the inflation, it was mostly from the fed and trump in 2020. Biden passed the infrastructure bill in 2022 but inflation was already falling by that point. Stimulus hit as vaccines were released, as Biden took office. Bad timing.
