Entrenching a culture of safety and preparedness in the minds of our teenagers is a foundation stone of our agency’s vision of a resilient nation. We utilize every opportunity to introduce our young minds to basic disaster risk reduction measures in their environment. I welcomed Junior Engineers, Technicians, and Scientists (JETS) Club members of Firmland Scholars School, Kurudu, Abuja, who visited our agency’s headquarters on an educational excursion. Impressed by their curiosity and enthusiasm to learn about disaster management, I charged them to be dynamic and innovative, and to embrace values of empathy, team spirit, and patriotism.
