I seriously doubt an A-League team would draw a bigger crowd for an ACL 2 groups stage game than Heidelberg would 🤷‍♂️ I can’t wrap my head around those against this happening. Imagine 2 NPL teams playing in different continental competitions. Cinema.

@smfcmike @SMEMUFC I kept rereading to find the answer and all I got was, it’s the narrative! Sometimes the narrative writes itself, and that’s a problem too.

Here’s another idea, until a world class player or two arrive that can loop in the “I only watch the best #MAINSTREAM sports entertainment seekers”, IMO, 🇦🇺⚽️ fans don’t just want promising players, they also want to be invested in the origin & narrative of those players which is often closely linked to domestic ⚽️. The truth is that growingly, only a niche audience is invested in the APL CARTEL’S ‘CLOSED SHOP’ #FAKE⚽️ #ALEAGUE TOURNAMENT (aka The NPL on Bonza ✈️s) which is the origin of many of these players. This appears to be presenting a problem for the support of the #Socceroos (as evidence by the data📉 👇) no? 🤔 #DeathToTheAleagues💀 #DeathToThePFA📄 #ALM #AustraliaCup #ALeague #ALW #WhereJournosIgnoreTheTruth✍️ #WhereTransferSystemsDontExist🔁 #WhereSelloutsComeToTheFore🤦‍♂️ #WhereClosedLeaguesAreUnique #WhereSelfInterestComesFirst🤫 #WhereExcusesReplaceLogic🤯

A pattern has emerged in the crowds for the Socceroos' World Cup farewell matches since 2006. These numbers are incongruous to the sense of opportunity and thrill the current Australian team provides. This is the solution: tinyurl.com/3ztc74m3

An important progression for the game is having a NST, that organically sets a higher standard, and yes PFA the 1200 plus NPL players filtered into a NST with 200 players improves standards, it just has to start and grow into what we want it to be not start an arbitrary point

This thread will be endless if we keep dissecting the reports and the role of @thepfa, but if there is one take away it's this: @thepfa are for themselves only, not the betterment of the game. We all know the next step for football to progress is an NSD & pro/rel giving greater opportunities for players & coaches to develop. Just know they never wanted it nor the biggest clubs in Australia outside of the A-league to be part of the elite level of the game again. It forms all their thinking.

@SrSittingBull @rashidmahazi @thepfa In line with the word “invest” used in the interview, is now more akin to a a black hole or money pit. The only “stakeholder” benefiting from this black hole 🕳️ at the moment is the players.

Beau Busch CEO of @thepfa on @suitedbootedtv talking how the PFA drove the change from the NSL to the A-league. Lots of revisionism on the past & ulterior motives that impact the game in the future, inc why they are against the NSD & pro/rel unless it’s on their terms. See below.

From the outside looking in, other than AL footballers and those playing overseas, the PFA appears only interested in this “elite” vacum. Happy to be proven wrong. Also of note the PFA votes for the FA Board, in line with the APL.

@SMEMUFC Without the jeopardy Victory wrote off the season basically. They where not punished for their poor decisions. And most likely they would have avoided relegation if it existed as they would have had to make football decisions much earlier.

@SMEMUFC To explain this to a person who only knows the ALM, and not the World Game. In 20/21 Victory finished last with 5 wins in 26 matches. The coach lasted till April. In a #prorelforaus situation the coach would have been sacked earlier and changes made earlier to avoid relegation.

A connected pyramid is a critical element of a thriving football ecosystem. At the moment we have a mono-system where people confuse surviving with thriving. Until we put steps in place to open up the pyramid, 🇦🇺⚽️ will stay stagnant & we’ll cont’ to have the same conversations!

Australia’s gas resources belong to Australians, not the gas companies. A minimum 25% gas export tax is only fair. It means Australians get a return on the extraction of our resources and we can fund public programs for the benefit of all. 📷 Credit: Mike Bowers #auspol #politas

Very emotive video an all that, but imagine how powerful those players would have been, and confident having a crack at the EPL after having won a title. It was worth keeping him on for. Momentum. They crushed it. Not my club I don’t care. Just find it interesting.
C.@CoysConf

We held the Crown Jewels, the man to change our trajectory, and we got rid of him. Sacking him will go down as the worst decision in our club’s history, every rival fan agrees, the only ones that don’t are the insecure Tottenham fans. Ange Postecoglou, forgive us and return.

@DeathNsl Being facetious here, how do you support & supported AL NSL? They are comps, most support a club. I would say support your club, my club isn’t in the AL comp it’s in a different comp but I still support my club. Focus on club development at all levels everything will be okay.

Dear Nick, you are a sour puss. There are tens of thousands of fans who have built an affinity and life long love affair to an A-League club. Take me, once an NSL fan now a rusted on tragic of the A-League. We have an amazing top tier, I pity you can’t enjoy it.
Nick Galatas@NickGalatas

@Gatty54 @peterfilopoulos True, Ray. Or we can make it sustainable around what we have rather than build it for what it isn't. 'Build it and they will come' is one of the great fallacies - made good by the exception. And grow from there. The AL model was built for what wasn't there.

@waynegoldcoach I agree with Norway, for below U14 “elite” soccer is not really beneficial for anyone. And yet in our wisdom Football Victoria introduced elite football from U13 this year, the flow on effect is U12 & U11 become elite as parents/players reposition to get to U13 elite!

I was on live radio about the Norway sport model. Host asked: "What's the ONE thing you'd change about sport?" My answer: Get rid of ALL junior rep teams, elite academies and "high performance programs" for kids under 14. They hurt participation. They hurt elite development. 50 years of research proves it. So what are they for? So 10-year-olds can wear a blazer? What would YOU change? #norwaymodel #youthsport #earlyspecialization #playlikeyourplace #sportsthoughts #waynegoldsmith

How do you pick an Aussie football club to attempt the IMPOSSIBLE?! 🇦🇺⚽️ Our Breaking Barriers documentary is partnering with a grassroots club with the aim of taking them all the way to the A-League. But which club? 'Welcome to Wrexham' had one criteria. Ours is different. And some legendary Socceroos are pitching for their local team to get the nod! Watch Episode 2 NOW: tinyurl.com/wun6839r

This is an idea for how promotion and relegation could work in Australia ⚽🇦🇺 How the A-Leagues grow. A fully connected pyramid. Where more games matter. And this concept by @MattyWindley is the inspiration that underpins our new Breaking Barriers documentary you can see exclusively on Football 360: tinyurl.com/rw88wzfb

Don’t think I’ll watch this @football360au “documentary” any further, I’m leaning towards it’s pure propaganda from @MattyWindley, @VinceRugari & co to protect the interests of the the APL CARTEL’S ‘CLOSED SHOP’ #FAKE⚽️ #ALEAGUE TOURNAMENT (aka The NPL on Bonza ✈️s). One worked directly for them. One has a job largely focussed on covering them. After watching the first episode & cringing my way through the first podcast, honestly, what a one sided fools-laden (really biased/#FAKE⚽️ view) of why #ProRelForAus can’t work. Surface level objections to the benefits of a fully connect pyramid. Are you for real? REALITY CHECK It’s on-field merit/achievement + financial capacity that are the only measures. If they had true credibility they’d put someone like @NickGalatas or even myself to challenge their foolish/biased (sorry, no better way to describe it) #FAKE⚽️ views no? 🤔 #DeathToTheAleagues💀 #ALM #AustraliaCup #ALeague #ALW #WhereJournosIgnoreTheTruth✍️ #WhereTransferSystemsDontExist🔁 #WhereSelloutsComeToTheFore🤦‍♂️ #WhereClosedLeaguesAreUnique #WhereSelfInterestComesFirst🤫 #WhereExcusesReplaceLogic🤯

@smfcmike Correct. And in the past and now, the argument from the FFA FA APL AL etc is that they (those attending local football) should be following the AL. Yes they want it all, my view just follow your Club. Everything will work itself out in the end if you do.

If you break out the amount of people attending local ⚽️ matches each weekend across all divisions of the VIC⚽️, 🇦🇺⚽️’s best & most deepest ⚽️ pyramid, the number is in a different stratosphere to the niche audience now regularly attending #FAKE⚽️ event series encounters in a “designated, non-compete geographic region & catchment area” - disguised as ⚽️ while attempting to be #AFL & #NRL-lite no? 🤔 #DeathToTheAleagues💀 #ALM #AustraliaCup #ALeague #ALW #WhereJournosIgnoreTheTruth✍️ #WhereTransferSystemsDontExist🔁 #WhereSelloutsComeToTheFore🤦‍♂️ #WhereClosedLeaguesAreUnique #WhereSelfInterestComesFirst🤫
Damir Pletikosa@dpletikosa

The amount of parents now saying they would rather take their kids to watch NPL over A-League is massive, more and more traditional football is winning.
