@bobbyfinnerty2 Why does Carbery love putting Miro with the least skilled players on the ice? You can tell he’s frustrated with how Duhaime and Kampf when he’s out there. Neither can get him the puck like the guys in Hershey can… he was great when he played with an actual player like Lapierre

Caps lose to Devils 3-7 Not a fun 3 hours. Lost a must win. You can't play from behind every game. Fuck Defense never had it and LT didn't make those extra few saves he normally does Kind of in the same spot as this morning? Almost everyone lost I miss Pro 38-29-9, Go Caps

@Capitalsforlife @SaintNick2018 I’m not being greedy I’m just stating that the caps won’t get the WC2 spot if they make the playoffs, it’ll be metro 3. The point threshold for Metro 3 is likely lower than wc2

@angekuo @DKPghSports Probably because he was one of the 5 pieces of the Guentzel trade. And now Cruz and Ponomarev are gone. Only Koivunen and Brunicke remain with the penguins for now.

DK Pittsburgh Sports@DKPghSports·
Penguins forward prospect Cruz Lucius won't be signing with the Penguins after his senior season ended at Arizona State. He'll become a free agent when his rights expire on Aug. 15. Lucius, originally a fourth-round pick of the Hurricanes in 2022, was a piece in the Jake Guentzel trade. "(Lucius and his agent) informed us that that he was not going to be signing in Pittsburgh for a few reasons that's up to him to share," Kyle Dubas said on this week's GM Show. "It's a personal thing for him. We felt we had a great opportunity for him, and the proof is in the pudding on the development side, but players are entitled to make their decision, and I don't think we're at the position here anymore where we have to beg people to come." Had Lucius signed with the Penguins, there would have been the opportunity to have his entry-level contract start next season, but he could have finished the year in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on a tryout contract. "I think passing up a chance to get into the American League and developing here, it would have been a month already now, but obviously next few months, especially when your (college) team doesn't qualify for anything, it's a big miss," Dubas said. "But that's his decision and his right. And we'll just move on to the next." -- From Taylor Haase in Tampa

With Parekh and Misa now both passing my 25-game threshold to be considered a prospect, Ilya Protas is my 3rd-best projected NHL prospect. Washington also holds #1 as Cole Hutson keeps proving his believers correct in the NHL. What a time to be a Caps fan. #ALLCAPS

@TytyStevens11 @owentbeecroft @theXNik18 No, WC2 is the harder spot for the caps to get, there are too many Atlantic teams going for WC2. The caps need the Flyers to beat the Isles tomorrow, and to lose in reg tonight. The best chance for the caps to make the playoffs is to pass the Jackets and the Isles for Metro 3.

Here's the best case scenario for tomorrow (knock on wood) -Capitals win in any fashion vs NJ -Ottawa loss in regulation vs BUF -Pens loss in any fashion vs TB -Regulation result in PHI vs DET -Columbus loss in regulation vs CAR This gets Washington 1 point out of a spot

@theXNik18 The caps probably want Detroit to win in reg since they’d have one less team to fight with over the Metro 3 spot, which I think is more likely than WC2, especially if Columbus loses to Carolina again

@EsarNoah @marcorock101 @ivandemigoal That’s not how it works. It would require Boston to win enough games as well. Just because Columbus wins enough games doesn’t mean that Boston will… although I’m sure that probabilities, math, and logic aren’t your strong suits seeing your pfp.

@ArugulaCaps @marcorock101 @ivandemigoal If Columbus catches Montreal Boston will too, Boston is way ahead of Columbus so yes in this hypothetical situation a wildcard team catching us means that we would be lapped by Boston too

@marcorock101 @ivandemigoal No lol Columbus would have to go 4 and 3 in their last 7 games to be tied with us. Not even near winning all their games

@TedStarkey According to both Grok and Microsoft Copilot, at least 97 points will be needed to make the playoffs. That means they will need 6 wins.

Washington has 7 games left, 2 at home (Buffalo, Pittsburgh), 5 away (New Jersey, Rangers, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Columbus.) 5-2 (95 points) may just do it.

@Tarik_ElBashir Carbery trying his hardest to turn the caps into the leafs… it’s too bad that former leafs he’s getting from CP aren’t even good enough to play in the lineup once we see how they play

David Kampf will make his long-awaited #ALLCAPS debut tonight vs. PHI, per Coach Carbery. Since being acquired at the trade deadline, the veteran center has missed 11 games due to immigration and personal reasons (his wife gave birth to their second child).

Welp. The Gavin McKenna college hockey project is over. 35 games. 51 points. 15 goals. 1 off ice one punch knockout. Took a fishing class as an elective. First round NCAA exit. If we’re putting this season on a report card I would give him a solid B. Wasn’t crazy good. Started to find some juice following the World Junior. He was fine. He will be fine.
