People under 40 have a gambling and credit problem… “Following legalization, delinquency rose steadily in legal counties and surpassed half a percentage point three years after legalization, representing a noticeable deterioration in repayment performance from a baseline of 10.7 percent. Spillover counties follow a similar pattern with a smaller magnitude increase in delinquencies, suggesting that, as with betting activity, the financial consequences extend across state lines.” libertystreeteconomics.newyorkfed.org/2026/03/sports…

Prediction markets have effectively legalized sports gambling in all 50 states AND lowered the age to 18. Even if you like the concept of prediction markets, you can probably agree that giving every 18-year old in the country a casino in their pocket is not a great idea.

If it looks and talks like gambling, it is gambling. Regulation of sports betting and casino-style prediction markets belongs to the states—not the federal government. Joined @SquawkCNBC to discuss our bill to keep these products out of spaces where they don’t belong.

Interesting to see this #sportsbetting “monthly P+L” pass through NY’s Assembly. One potential concern, though, is early evidence from #UK suggested this could actually *increase* betting behavior: “oh, I didn’t lose as much as I thought!” Area for further testing and research.

Washington just joined a diverse group of states CA, OK, MN, & ND in banning employee non-competes. Research shows they function as "restraints of trade in labor and product markets, suppressing wages, mobility, entrepreneurship, and innovation while raising costs to consumers."

With bipartisan concern growing re: nationwide #gambling, we at @Arnold_Ventures applaud @SenJohnCurtis & @SenAdamSchiff's #predictionmarket bill. "Sports prediction is merely a form of gambling and, consistent with longstanding practice, should be regulated by the states..."
Arnold Ventures@Arnold_Ventures

Arnold Ventures applauds @SenJohnCurtis and @SenAdamSchiff for introducing the Prediction Markets are Gambling Act. This bipartisan bill brings needed clarity by reaffirming that sports prediction markets are gambling and should be regulated by the states. Read our full statement: bit.ly/47dbvg8

The proposed prediction-market bill from @SenAdamSchiff and @SenJohnCurtis has been announced. "It’s time for Congress to step in and eliminate this backdoor which violates state consumer protections, intrudes upon tribal sovereignty, and offers no public revenue," Schiff says.

From @TheAthleticFC: Tottenham Hotspur are in genuine danger of dropping out of English soccer’s top division. We asked a variety of leading figures within soccer what brought them to this position. “Incompetence of the highest order,” one said. nyti.ms/40Jw0NO
