ముందు నుంచే చెబుతూనే ఉన్నాం! ఇది కేవలం ప్రకటనల ప్రభుత్వం. పని చేయడం తెలియదు, చెప్పిన పథకాలను అమలు చేయడం తెలియదు. ప్రకటించిన పరిహారం / నిధులను విడుదల చేయడం కూడా తెలియదు. అందుకే ఇది ప్రభుత్వం కాదు, “డ్రామా కంపెనీ” అన్నాం. ఎందుకన్నామో! ఇప్పుడు అయినా అర్థమవుతుందా?

FIFTY FOUR people died due to heatwave in Telangana on Tuesday. 54 deaths!! In ONE single day. 17 people in Warangal district, 14 people in Khammam district, seven in Karimnagar, six in Nalgonda, five in Adilabad, two in Nizamabad, one in Mahbubnagar, one in Medchal and one in Siddipet district succumbed due to the prevailing heatwave conditions. One of them victims was a farmer who was at a government procurement center waiting for his paddy produce to be bought. 39 year old Yellender Reddy collapsed while getting his crop weighed. He couldn’t be saved. In Medchal, 50 year old Ahmed Arif was driving his auto since the morning. Around noon he couldn’t take the heat, so stopped taking trips and slept in his auto. He never woke up. In the last four days TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY people died in Telangana alone due to heatwave. 220 lives lost!! And government is yet to call it an epidemic. Because it is the Sun that is killing, a convenient act of God. 220 deaths in one single state. No one knows what is happening across the country because no one is even bothering to collect the data. Meanwhile, World Health Organisation just yesterday declared “Ebola” a Public Health Emergency of International Concern because 220 people died due to the Ebola virus. Why is that the 220 deaths in just one small state of India not even a national news? A headline? Not a public health emergency? What I fear is the mortality figures must be equally bad or worse in other states of India, just that we don’t have the data to prove it. We live like cockroaches and die like cockroaches….burnt to crisp in the heat. Because our governments will keep chopping off forests & trees.
