I *really* want to say that this is celebrity worship gone too far. but at the same time this state was a duopoly, and worse yet, while neither are modi's BJP, the opposition formed an alliance with them. people don't like the duopoly and likely saw this as a chance to break it

@markofbrooklyn @krystalball I don't think this is the case. the issue is that right now, innocent civilians are being killed and ethnically cleansed, and it has been going on for the past 3-ish years. those are the real victims. to focus on a few isolated examples is manufactured distraction and tone-deaf
