Manager: I have you scheduled for a meeting at 7 PM tomorrow. Gen Z: Is my attendance mandatory? Manager: Yes, we’re working with a client in another time zone. Gen Z: Okay, I’m happy to shift my hours to accommodate. Manager: Excuse me, no—you still start at 8 AM. Gen Z: If I’m working in the evening, then I’ll start later in the day. Manager: Okay, don’t watch the clock at this company. We work when we need to work. Gen Z: I’m contracted and paid for 40 hours a week, so that is what I work. Manager: That’s a career-limiting move. Tomorrow is a busy day; I’ll need you to start right promptly at 8:00 AM. Gen Z: Alright then, I will take the lieu time later this week. Manager: Again, that’s not how we operate at this company. You work hard when you need to, and you don’t watch the clock. Gen Z: Again, I work for the hours I’m paid for, and since overtime is not an option, I’ll go ahead and adjust my hours this week to accommodate the shift in the schedule. Manager: You’re not quite understanding the company culture we have here—we work all the time. Gen Z: And you’re not understanding that just because that is the way you do things does not mean that is how I’m required to do things as well. Manager: (Silence)

@DennisOToo92059 @PeterBastin1 @LordToyotomi @Simon_Ingari Cool, YOU ARE talking about US law but why does that give you the right to ASSUME that everyone else is; that's a you problem. Facts very much are my strong suit, but your don't know me so I have no expectations that you would know that

@DennisOToo92059 @PeterBastin1 @LordToyotomi @Simon_Ingari Really, the original post is from someone is Nigeria, so why do you assume we are talking about the US unless your own ego places the US at the centre of everything?!?!? There are more people employed outside of the US then within it so why is that the default?

@LordToyotomi @Simon_Ingari That is not an employee. He is a contractor. And many companies refuse to pay overtime. Many contractors work, not for a career, but to do a job and get paid.

@lynlynisin @Jenny_1884 My apologies, I thought you were referring to international students rather than students who have a non-British passport but have indefinite leave to remain and have been resident in the UK for 3 years before their course starts. Are you also outraged that they went to school?

Google's Cursor competitor: FREE! My course for you to learn: FREE! My holiday gift to you 🎁 [⚠️ Comment "Antigravity" & I'll send you the link] Antigravity is Google's answer to Cursor. It's an AI tool that works directly on your device. Not just for developers! For ANYONE who works with text. It's 100% free right now. Access to Gemini 3 Pro. Even Claude Opus 4.5 (!) Use Nano Banana Pro right in the chat. No subscription. No trial. No credit card. This won't last forever. I've been teaching Cursor to PMs for months. But Cursor costs $20/month. Antigravity removes that barrier completely. So I rebuilt the entire course for AG. It's an Antigravity course taught IN Antigravity. So everything you do is directly applicable! The AI IN the tool is your teacher. What you'll learn: → Write PRDs with AI assistance → Analyze CSV data and survey results → Create strategy documents → Build reusable templates and workflows But here's what most people don't realize: This isn't just for PM work. The real reason I wanted to get this out today... On-device AI assistants are useful for LIFE: 🔹 Want to reorganize your files? 🔹 Rename hundreds of photos? 🔹 Clean up your Downloads folder? 🔹 Convert documents between formats? 🔹 Troubleshoot why something isn't working? Just open the files and ask. Talk to it like a person. I spend all day in these tools now. I've never been so productive. Or had so much fun. AI in a browser is like wearing a straightjacket. This is a terrible day for a launch. But I genuinely want to free you! You've been meaning to learn this stuff. You've got the time. The course is free. The tool is free. No excuses! This is my gift to you. Happy Holidays 🌲 👉 Repost + comment "Antigravity" & I'll send you the link

Sadly, this is exactly right. The NHS now hires one in six of Nigeria’s doctors - and Nigeria needs them. Yet we turn away thousands of kids with A-stars galore who want to be doctors. The waste of talent - of human capital - is quite something. thetimes.com/article/d4534d…

Sophy Ridge: "20,000 foreign doctors come to the UK every year, but we reject about 16,000 med school applicants, & this is because of money right? It's cheaper for us to import trained doctors from abroad rather than subsidise training in the UK"

@EtheralWanderer @AFandango @vividwinter9835 @RupertLowe10 So you agree with the statements in your reference I presume which includes, "The researchers said the balance of evidence is that wearing face coverings reduces transmission of respiratory infections in community settings and did reduce transmission of Covid-19."?

I see the public health communists are trying to force us into wearing pointless masks again. Two words from me - sod off. Didn’t work then, won’t work now. Filthy bits of cloth over our mouths make NO difference. It’s dystopian and I hate it. We shouldn’t have to ‘protect the NHS’, the NHS is there to protect us. So no, I will not wear a mask.

@Reedyffc1990 @RepGovmatrix @RupertLowe10 You don't. These figures are conflating those students who have indefinitely leave to remain (including those from the EU who were here before Brexit) with actual international students who are ineligible for student loans, who pay international fees annually

@RepGovmatrix @RupertLowe10 No. Foreign students are more than welcome but they should have to pay up front. Why should I pay for them. We aren’t a global bank.

Yet another scandal uncovered, this time on student loans. My view is that we are saddling youngsters with such extreme debt, then charging ludicrous interest on those loans. It is morally repugnant to load young men and women with yet another tax. And it is a tax... But let’s explore who is actually taking those loans (which very often don’t get paid back.) Figures all provided to me by the Department for Education. The figures paid to UK nationals over the last five years has stayed steady. 16 billion a year. Non-UK nationals? 2.4 billion in 20/21, rising to 3.8 billion in 24/25. Unknown nationality? 341 million in 20/21, to 706 million in 24/25. How can it be unknown? How can we hand out thousands and thousands of pounds when we don’t even know a person’s nationality? But it gets worse… I asked for a nationality breakdown of loans written off. Obviously, they did not have the information... However, they did provide me with a breakdown of loan borrowing by nationality. Some of the figures are quite striking, particularly the Romanians. Romania. 25,046 in 19/20. 78,325 in 23/24. How on earth is that justifiable?! Why are we funding tens of thousands of Romanians to go to university? 78 thousand Romanians receiving financial support, in ONE YEAR. How much of this is being paid back? Written off? Meaning that British students are having to pay through the nose for their interest. It’s a fraud. Quite obviously a scam. Thousands and thousands take the money, then sod off. Never paying it back, leaving us to clear up the mess. We should restrict student loan financing to British boys and girls. Ban Romanians from applying, urgently. Save billions by restricting it to Brits, then we can start to scrap the interest on student loans and give young British men and women the freedom they need to build a life.
