For his official NASA portrait in 2008, astronaut Leland Melvin decided to include his rescue dogs, Jake and Scout, even though dogs weren't usually allowed at the photo shoot.
He sneaked them onto the base and into the photo lab using his van. To keep the dogs quiet during his change into the orange "pumpkin suit," Melvin used 100 MilkBones.
The memorable photo happened when the dogs excitedly ran towards him, captured by the ready photographer.
After the shoot, a security guard questioned the noise, but Melvin joked it was just a "doggy screensaver." They managed to leave without further issues.

We will use this plastic batch for research back on shore - analyzing every single piece for clues such as bite marks, brands, and production dates. (1/4)
