"Concierge" healthcare isn't just for wealthy folks anymore. Iowa-based Hy-Vee Health Exemplar Care designed an affordable direct primary care model, starting at $49 per mo! "The first response is, it sounds too good to be true. That's actually sad. That's part of what's wrong with healthcare today," says Carl Behn, co-founder. "It really is that easy, it really is that simple, and it really is that affordable." Everyone assumes access to a doctor is expensive, inefficient, and rushed so Behn often recommends they try it. "Oftentimes we might even give them a trial" he says. "Come feel what that experience feels like of what  real healthcare should feel like for you." 🤯 Sign up: #IowaPod" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">exemplar.care/#IowaPod

I've met @RobSandIA @ZachLahn @adamsteen and @eddieandrews personally in the studio. On and off air, they all care about Iowa deeply and NOT ONE of them spoke poorly of their opponents before, after, or during our recording. It's sad to see people online troll them, or treat them as evil just because of a differing opinion or magic D or R by their name. The more anger and hatred you direct at caring people, the more you discourage other caring people to run for public office. And if caring people don't run, we're left with an ugly alternative: those driven by anger and hatred. If you want to change opinions, a far more effective strategy is through kindness, the tool wielded by intellectual masters. They lead you to change your own mind by asking questions that sew doubt in your own beliefs. Minds aren't changed under pressure, but through a smile and a hand warm handshake. So, if you really want your candidate to win, start asking better questions and stop giving your opposition an excuse to dig their heels in. It's better for you, better for those you disagree with, and better for Iowa. ~ Justin Brady

@MitchKi76922032 @ZachLahn I will most certainly lose sleep tonight knowing a random person on X thinks I am a moron. Hopefully I do better next time. - Justin

@IowaPod @ZachLahn His X quote makes it appear as though he no longer lives in Kansas.. Yet flight logs show he goes there every week and spends the majority of his time there. HE HAS NOT ADDRESSED THAT HE STILL LIVES IN KANAS!! Justin you are a complete moron if you think he’s addressed this.

@IowaPod 1 podcast idea. Have several students along with a few industry CEO's and they have a discussion where industry people can hear directly from students what they find frustrating/like, etc. And industry people really talk to the kids. You mediate the talk.

@VikeClones Yes. Ingersoll is awesome. But when cars wait to enter the road way, they block the bike path. Seems annoying for cyclists that have to wait, whereas before they could free-flow. ~ Justin

@dreymen1 @DesMoinesGov Is it possible to actually drive down Ingersoll without stopping every 30 feet for a turning car? Do you have lots of "nearly rammed a car" moments? ~ Justin

@IowaPod @DesMoinesGov Absolutely. And as a cyclist, I've been cut off, and I've done it too. The design takes attention away and through bike lane to road. But they were getting complaints as soon as the first cars drove on it, but all we heard is how well it turned out

@MrMarinaraMan I just don’t follow why we brought bikes out from the road way where they will be actively blocked instead of free flowing. But perhaps I’m missing something. 🤷‍♂️ - Justin

@IowaPod I honestly don't have the energy to argue on here today and I regret engaging. I think the video's argument is not a big deal to most who live in DM or bigger cities..its the delicate balance we walk with having nice amenities while also being a growing city. Thx for the follow

@IowaPod @DesMoinesGov You're very butt hurt to put a clip out asking for people's opinions and then replying to the ones telling you why you sound like a whiny karen. Maybe this podcast thing isn't for you, bro.

@IowaPod @DesMoinesGov This is pretty weak sauce, dude. People who live and commute in the city (which this sort of thing is 100x worse in real big cities) have no issue with managing this. Although I do think the downtown bike lanes are excessive as they are hardly used enough to justify them.

Really fun experience as a guest in the @IowaPod this week! @JustinBrady was a great host and asked some thought provoking questions. We talk AI in the hiring process from the candidate and company side.
IowaPodcast.com@IowaPod

Who's hiring who? Ai is screening resumes but is that good or bad for candidates and companies? @adamvietDSM of Big Creek Growth pulls back the curtain on broken HR processes and how Ai could help companies recruit better, but could just as easily hurt recruiting if CHROs aren't careful. For years, recruiters have used machine learning to scan through resumes due to the volume of resumes they receive. But the discussion centers on the reason for the high volume, which is poorly written, vague job descriptions. Will recruiters use Ai to write better job descriptions and communicate better, or will they simply use it to further remove the most precious resource they have: the human? 💡 Find this show on your favorite player: iowapodcast.com/Ai-scanning-re…

@IowaPod @DesMoinesGov A couple of winters ago they closed the entire street to get dump trucks and skid loaders in there to clear snow out of the parking cut outs. Can’t just plow them like a normal street.
