Tigray IDPs Dying Under Ethiopia’s Genocidal Blockade “For the past three years, 1,309 people died due to hunger and lack of medicine in IDP camps. We are not receiving enough aid from the federal gov’t and NGOs are reducing their help,” #Tigray’s Social Affairs Office told AFP.

Day 1972 of the #TigrayGenocide: The #Ethiopian government has imposed a functional blockade on #Tigray. 💊 Medicine. ⛽ Fuel. 💹 Budget/Salary. 💵 Cash. ⛑️ Humanitarian Aid. 🚧 Road Blocked! #AllowAccessToTigray #EndTigraySiege

Day 1971 of the #TigrayGenocide: The genocide against #Tigrayans was a joint project involving #Eritrean army, #Ethiopian army, & #Amhara militia & Fano. Abiy invited Eritrean troops, deployed his army, and enabled allied militias. All must be held accountable! #Justice4Tigray

Day 1969 of the #TigrayGenocide: #Tigrayan students & teachers are protesting due to unpaid salaries for moths . Genocidal @AbiyAhmedAli's regime has cut #Tigray's budget & blocked government employees salaries. This is how the Genocide continues. #TigrayIsSuffering

Day 1968 of the #TigrayGenocide: The evidence of #Eritrean crimes is undeniable. But emphasizing #Eritrean atrocities while erasing #Ethiopian troops and #Amhara militia crimes betrays victims and distorts history. #Tigray deserves justice & accountability. #Justice4Tigray

Day 1925 of the #TigrayGenocide: In 2020, the international community was told civilians were not killed in #Tigray. In 2026, massacres were publicly acknowledged. This is not a contradiction. It is a legal rupture. #Justice4Tigray #TigrayCantWait

Day 1924 of the #TigrayGenocide: Wars of annihilation are not triggered by rhetoric. They are initiated through decisions by actors who possess and deploy sovereign military power. #Ethiopia & #Eritrea are guilty of #TigrayEthnicCleansing! #Justice4Tigray

Day 1897 of the #TigrayGenocide: Hunger entered our bodies. Children too weak to cry. Elders wasting away in silence. The sick dying without medicine. Starvation was not collateral — it was deliberate. #TigrayFamine #TigrayIsSuffering

Day 1896 of the #TigrayGenocide: Imagine being blocked from food, medicine, and basic survival… not by nature, but by policy. This happened in #Tigray. Millions of #Tigrayans starved. And the world watched. #Justice4Tigray #TigrayIsSuffering

We were forced from our homes. Now we are denied food, medicine, and dignity — while our fertile land is occupied. Starvation of civilians = war crime. Inflicting life-ending conditions = genocide. Silence is complicity. #IDPsDeserveJustice @UNHumanRights @UN_HRC @IMC_Worldwide

#Ethiopia: Tigray civil societies, political parties raise alarm over deepening humanitarian crisis at #Hitsats IDP camp A growing number of political parties, civil society organizations, and advocacy groups have issued urgent appeals warning of a deepening humanitarian crisis at the Hitsats internally displaced persons (#IDP) camp and other displacement sites across #Tigray, citing deaths from hunger, lack of medical care, and what they describe as prolonged inaction by authorities and the international community. Addressing the crisis, Gebrehiwot Gebregzabher, head of the Disaster Risk Management Commission, told Addis Standard earlier today that “Eighty percent of the IDP population across 146 camps in Tigray originates from Western Tigray,” He said fuel shortages have significantly worsened the humanitarian response on the ground, limiting the distribution of available assistance. In a joint appeal addressed to senior officials of the United Nations, major humanitarian agencies, and donor governments, the Global Society of Tigray Scholars and Professionals (#GSTS) said internally displaced people in Hitsats and other camps are “already dying from starvation, malnutrition, and preventable diseases.” The Tigray Independence Party (#TIP) also issued a statement expressing its outrage over deaths caused by a “man-made famine,” particularly among IDPs displaced from Western Tigray and currently sheltering at the Hitsats camp. Meanwhile, Tsilal Western Tigray Civil Society called on the Tigray Interim Administration to declare a state of emergency, resettle IDPs living in vulnerable conditions to safer locations, and establish a special task force to address humanitarian aid delivery challenges.
