@MetsFanInTexas @ZhouJaron 2008 would've been a disaster for Republicans if Cheney was the nominee. Biden didn't run because of the death of Beau/the fact Hillary already pretty much had the full backing of the dem party.

@sirchadius @SuddhodanaG @LuftkoppTim I can tell you during the hottest days in the summer months Europe's heat is always very dry. Their heat source is the Sahara Desert which brings a very dry heat. It's not like the E US or Asia where the heat source is the wet Gulf of Mexico or Indian Ocean.

@AtlanticWeather @SuddhodanaG @LuftkoppTim Yes if you use zoom.earth Europe doesn't seem to be very humid, although the temperature is high. But this is just one day. Even the temperature is abnormal. This is why I'm saying we need a summer months average RH or DP to verify Europe's heat complaints.

@KevH404 @tylerhmead High relative humidity at night is normal, the temperature always moves towards the dewpoint at night. The relative humidity is almost always high at night. The real problem is when you also have high relative humidity in the daytime.

@tylerhmead It was 82% humidity last night. And unless you’re staying in a house with no AC you still don’t know the full experience 😩

@sirchadius @SuddhodanaG @LuftkoppTim Yes but I also fundamentally disagree with your statement. The heat and humidity in Europe doesn't come anywhere close to comparing to the eastern US, S/E Asia, and the tropics, if you consider all factors. The difference is most in euro don't have AC or the infrastructure for it

@sirchadius @SuddhodanaG @LuftkoppTim These three are directly related. Dew Point/Temp = relative humidity. It's more complicated than one being better than the other, you need all three to get a complete picture. Dewpoint generally gives the most information, since the temp can't be lower than the dewpoint.

@sirchadius @SuddhodanaG @LuftkoppTim At a certain point the temperature compared to your body temp is so low it doesn't matter. 75 degrees with a 70 degree dewpoint isn't as bad as 90 degrees with a 70 degree dewpoint. Also because the dews are so low in Europe the relative humidity is lower when there's heat.

@sirchadius @SuddhodanaG @LuftkoppTim No it's the opposite, relative humidity is how saturated the air is, it pretty much just measure whether you'll get fog or mist. Cooler air is easier to saturate which is why relative humidity is higher in Europe. Dewpoint is the measure of total moisture volume.

@instant_party @SperrysandNikes Personally don't think the mason-dixon line is a very good divider when it comes to education. Maryland is a better state in terms of education than most states in the northeast. x.com/StatisticUrban…

I made a quick map showing college education by state. Four-year degrees are really not *that* common, at least not as much as people assume. Only 11 states are ≥40%, and just one, Massachusetts, has a majority.
