@Zizaran You didn't think an immigrant beheading someone in the street would cause an uproar?
English

@TheTennisLetter They had to leave the wind in there to make it more exciting and watchable.

Aryna Sabalenka says she doesn't know why Roland Garros kept the roof open with how windy it was, but she can't complain:
"How big a factor were the conditions? It was a windy afternoon."
Aryna: "That’s another question – I don’t know why they would keep the roof open when it was crazy windy. But how can I complain if for almost the whole match everything was working okay for me, and then it just slipped away? I feel like it was getting crazy maybe just because mentally I wasn’t really okay. I remember even from last year they kept the roof open for us, and then the next day, in similar conditions, they closed it for the men – to make better conditions and better quality of tennis, I believe. I don’t know why they would keep it open. Even though I was winning, it was very dirty tennis. I don’t know how people could actually sit there and watch. And then at some point she stepped in and played unbelievable."

@TheTennisLetter Would love to see the stats for this ladies night match compared to the men's - also, if it didn't include Sabalenka.

Naomi Osaka says it was an honor to be a part of the first women’s night match on Philippe-Chatrier at Roland Garros in 3 years, ‘I’m honored that the tournament chose us to play in this slot. I hope that going forward they’ll continue to do so.’
“I don’t know if you know this, but this was the first women’s match to be scheduled in the night session here for 3 years. I just wondered what your reaction was to finding out your match was scheduled in the night session?”
Naomi: “What was the match before this one?”
“Sabalenka Stephens.”
Naomi: “Oh, like Sloane?”
“Yeah.”
Naomi: “I’m so sorry that was a dumb question. God d*mn” 😂
Naomi: “For me I thought it was really cool. Obviously she’s really good for tennis. I would hope I’m okay for tennis too. Honestly it was really fun to play. The last time I remember playing like a semi night match here was obviously against Iga. I was told it wasn’t the official night match. I’m honored that the tournament chose us to play in this slot. I hope that going forward they’ll continue to do so.”

@TheTennisLetter She still won't invite you to her black Diddy parties Sabs

Aryna Sabalenka had kind words for Naomi Osaka after beating her at Roland Garros, ‘Maybe not at her best tennis, but getting there. And after giving birth that’s something unbelievable & inspiring’
“I feel like this year I’m just getting to know her. She’s definitely a fighter and a great player. I’m super happy to see her back, maybe not at her best tennis, but getting there. And after giving birth that’s something unbelievable and inspiring. I’m just happy to see her back and happy to play matches against her. It’s always a battle. It’s always challenging. I’m just enjoying our battles.”

@Pirat_Nation Anything normal reminds them how cooked they are. That's why they hate it so much

The LGBTQ+ community are already attacking (again) the indie low-fantasy action RPG Knight’s Path after they revealed their character Amelie a healer who is one of three romance options in the game.
One user replied: “Seems like ur just making trad wife porn for right wingers.”
The developers responded directly that “it’s just a kind woman in a modest dress and is not trad wife porn. It is just a normal human character.” And that she is not real

@TheTennisLetter Nike is cooked if they think anyone likes or cares about these cringe kits. All for her vanity and attention-whoring. Literally make 0 profit
English

Naomi Osaka says Nike plans all of her Grand Slam kits at least a year and a half in advance, ‘I don’t think people realize how much time and effort they put into every outfit… For me it would be almost weirder to wear a normal tennis kit at this point’
“If you’re going to the Met Gala, it doesn’t have to be a consideration whether the dress is comfortable or not. If you’re playing, obviously it needs to be something you’re comfortable playing with. How much time, how many fittings did you need to make sure you were actually comfortable playing in that dress?”
Naomi: “Honestly I really love that you asked this question because I have a lot of meetings with Nike. I don’t think people realize how much time and effort they put into every outfit. They plan it like a year and a half in advance. And that’s like minimum. We have so many fittings throughout the year because your weight can fluctuate and the fabric can change a little bit. There’s a lot of effort that goes into it. If you’re asking the exact amount of fittings, I wanna say at least four.”
“When you wear a dress like you’ve been wearing this week and all the earlier.. the last 2 or 3 years, are you able to switch off from that and focus on your tennis?”
Naomi: “I kind of consider it a part of me. So it’s not like I have to switch on or switch off when I’m playing tennis. It’s literally like my self expression. For me it would be weirder to wear a normal tennis kit almost at this point I think. I feel like it’s the fun of it. For a long time, I didn’t have fun for a little bit. You guys know that period of time in my life. So now I just want things to be fun and I want to make it exciting for myself.”

Coco Gauff on the importance of showcasing different styles for black hair on tour:
“I’ve said this before, I pride myself in showcasing different black hair on tour. Just so almost every girl can feel represented. The Williams sisters did that for me, so I try to do that for someone else.” ❤️

@JonnyRoot_ A very good question. Hi @Served_Podcast will you be asking a friend of the podcast and key contributor Chris Eubanks what he was doing attending a segregated dinner party?
Many Tennis fans would like to know his intentions and whether he believes in segregation in Tennis?
English

Imagine if the #1 women’s tennis player, Aryna Sabalenka, held a segregated dinner party for only white players with John McEnroe in attendance.
She would be forced to apologize, Tennis Channel & ESPN would make statements/condemn it, & McEnroe would be suspended or fired.
So why is a segregated blacks-only dinner party hosted by Naomi Osaka, with Chris Eubanks in attendance ok?
You can’t have it both ways...
PS: There has never been a whites-only party hosted by a white player in professional tennis as Osaka claims. She’ll never be able to provide proof.

English

@JonnyRoot_ @naomiosaka shouldn't have attended her own party. Conveniently forgets her Asian half. But all this nonsense is heavily hypocritical in multiple aspects - as always. She has always been a victim and a racist at heart.
English

@kate_catalina @pavyg @DtwNovak Funny thing is seeing Osaka rejecting the other half of herself - technically she shouldn't be at her own party.
English

@pavyg @DtwNovak I think Coco has a personal rivalry with Osaka
And I think is only trying to get likes.
Unfortunately racism hasn’t disappeared but educated ppl is not racist.
The more they speak about it the worse this turns out, in real life most ppl respect any other person, color, religion.
