The NAACP is urging Black athletes and fans to “withhold athletic and financial support” from public universities in states that “have moved to limit, weaken or erase Black voting representation”

Two-time runner-up Caitlin Clark and WNBA champion assistant coach Briann January share a quick moment on the bench. ✨

Arguing with Caitlin Clark? Coaches who never played at her level are trying to dictate her game based on their own limited experience. Real coaching comes from lived, high-level performance, not just analytics or past mediocre careers. #WNBA #CaitlinClark #Hoops

Remember in Harriet when they created a random evil nigga named “Bigger Longer” to be the villain of the movie. One thing about movies about black women is they will make the black man the villain.

Sterling K. Brown talks about why he chose to be part of the film “Is God Is” “So there’s the macro and the micro. I love Black women, and I love seeing Black women win, right? I thought this was an incredibly creative script, something different and new, and I think that we, as a community, have been asking for creative and new stories, right? And I feel like the more diverse the landscape of stories are that we get to tell, the more people will stop putting us into a box in terms of what a Black movie is, what a Black story is. We are everything, and so the opportunity to do everything is something that excites me. Aleshea (Harris) wrote a play, then she adapted the play, and she directed the play, and I think she did so brilliantly. I also love the idea that Black women get a chance to be messy in this film, like hella messy. I feel like oftentimes we’re asked, in many stories, to be voices of reason. Sort of the sensible side component of a larger story, and that’s not the case in this. That is exciting to me.” 🔗 rollingout.com/2026/05/16/why…

If you are 18-39, PAY ATTENTION! Y’all are a larger group than baby boomers and Gen Xers. Y’all complain about older people in politics. But look at what Georgia NAACP President Gerald Griggs posted. Of the 696,353 people that have voted early in Georgia, only 9.8% are 18-39. That is abysmal. You can’t change the system if you never show up at the ballot box. Expressing anger on Threads, IG, TikTok, Twitter and Snapchat ain’t it. Let’s go 18-39 folks!

“Slavery is over. Jim Crow is dead.” Rep. Wesley Hunt pushes back on what he calls “reinvigorated talk” of Jim Crow, while defending the idea that America is a Christian nation: "As someone who is a direct descendant of a slave, as someone whose great-great-grandfather was born on a plantation, I can assure you, slavery is over. Jim Crow is dead." "I am a Black man representing a White-majority district in Texas, the great-great-grandson of a man born on a plantation stands before you today as a proud, conservative Republican from Texas. As a believer and follower in Christ."

Wajahat Ali has another meltdown over Trump, “It infuriates me that a convicted criminal who incited a violent insurrection, who still lies about the election he lost and pardoned all the insurrectionists, that guy never saw the inside of a courtroom, never saw the inside of a jail cell”
