A new political awakening is underway in the US—one that spans the progressive left and the conservative right—centred on the urgent need to unhinge American foreign and security policy from Israeli strategic imperatives and threat perceptions. The US’s involvement in yet another West Asian war, justifi ed on the false pretext of Iran possessing nuclear weapons—a stark reminder of the canard used to justify the invasion of Iraq in the early years of this century—has only intensifi ed the debate over fundamentally rebooting the US–Israel relationship. @abaruah64 @USEmpire

Strategic Affairs | A growing section of American conservatives, paradoxically more than the progressive left, is now actively challenging the stranglehold of Israeli strategic interests over American grand strategy. @AtulBeret and Meera Nangia write: epw.in/journal/strate…

@RShivshankar The Q to be asked :Why do we allow our minds to be irrigated by the West? Why don't we raise doubts about what they produce?

After the Lutyens Ecosystem the Western media has a go at Dhurandhar. The Economist calls it "propaganda for Modi". But there's a deeper question to be asked on "RAW DISPTACH FROM MY DESK", how is that the West applauds its own myths but harshly judges India's?

Australia has responded with unambiguous outrage and action. The Department of Veterans’ Affairs labelled the damage to over 250 Anzac graves "distressing" and committed to full restoration through the Office of Australian War Graves, coordinating with the Commonwealth War Graves But South Asia continu s to mantain silence

n the 1950s, we were aligned with the US on Tibet and fought the 1962 war. Mid-60s: Indira, Jan Sangh, Swatantra Party, JP & socialists all loved America. Yet the US ditched us to chase China. From the 80s we were with them again, and from the 90s we've been head over heels. What more do you want us to do to appease them?

We all swear by strategic autonomy. But geopolitics scorns nations with critical dependencies... Food to arms, capital to tech, jobs to fuel, India was never self-reliant. We must look inwards & fix what condemns us to being an also-ran #NationalInterest theprint.in/national-inter…

@the_hindu One must distinguish between American and Israeli imperialism. Relying on the term 'imperialism' as a cliché fails to provide a meaningful explanation.

People must protest against imperialist attacks on Iran and other countries, as well as India’s current foreign policy, said N. Ram, Director of The Hindu Group, at a seminar on “Imperialist Aggression and its Impact” at HKS Surjeet Bhavan in central Delhi. thehindu.com/news/national/…

@mukulkesavan @ananthkrishnan The sad part is that the left never articulated the colonization of American minds by Israel in a manner in which Carlson is doing. We never imagined Israel to be the reason behind "forever wars".

We shouldn’t be surprised that when the editor-in-chief of The Economist was called out on Gaza by a far-Right conspiracist, notorious for flirting with anti-Semites, it was Carlson who emerged as the even-handed liberal while Beddoes was reduced to Israel’s stooge.

@ashok12386745 @StratNewsGlobal @nitingokhale A more pertinent question to ask is what does Israel gain from this war? From all previous wars in the Middle East the US has gained little and the biggest gainer has been Tel Aviv. Even now Israel is gaining territory in Lebanon.

We often overlook the internal rift within the MAGA movement's Pro-White faction. It's split between Zionist loyalists and anti-Zionist populists. @LaurLoomer is firmly in the Zionist camp, whereas @TuckerCarlson aligns with the populists.Tucker's anti-Zionist stance precludes an invitation to #IndiaTodayConclave

I find it hard to believe that she would have been granted a visa unless someone from the establishment wanted to use her to reach out to Trump. She must have been told to disown the anti India stuff but assured that the anti Muslim abuse was just fine. She stuck to the deal
Suhasini Haidar@suhasinih

Interesting that someone so openly communal and divisive about India was granted a visa and political clearance by @meaindia (reqd for all such events) when so many leaders, thinkers, academics and authors are denied.

Trump’s second term has stripped away the illusions. The executive order of September 2025 restoring the ‘Department of War’, with Secretary Pete Hegseth embracing the title, was no mere symbolic flourish – it signalled the return of explicit imperial language, discarding the post-Second World War euphemism of ‘defence’ for the blunt honesty of ‘war’. @abhijit227 But does protecting your guest and harbouring an unarmed ship of a belligerent also compromise neutrality?

It also spotlights a moral dilemma non- belligerents face in war. Even if one would like to act out of ethical or humanitarian concerns, one cannot do so without compromising neutrality. The stark reality is that beyond sovereign territorial waters lies a war zone, where everything is fair game.

The sinking of an Iranian corvette in Sri Lanka’s EEZ - tragic as it is - highlights the issue of neutrality in wartime. The vessel had left Vizag well before hostilities began, but must have known it would be hunted by US submarines in the IOR. Its crew likely understood that regional states could not offer harbour without appearing to take sides - an act forbidden for neutrals in war.
